Althea, Max and Aylitha are fighting an elite Bureau kill squad on the top of a roof. Aln has been taken back to the Bureau's bunker as a prisoner and is interviewing John, one of the Bureau soldiers. Tels and Capt. Sharpe are fighting a Scorpion Manticore thingy along with some Ghostblood soldier npc's. Lita and Laurelai have moved to the Odd Job Tavern but can be reached if needed. Voidus and the Stranger are standing in the middle of the Bureau demon army getting ready to do... something intense probably. :P Deteca has rejoined the TUBA tunnels, Zokora and Baker Pi are coordinating forces from within the tunnels, Lusk and some GB's may or may not still be in Shadesmar? Mike, Seom and Wes are on their way to reinforce someone (idk who). Alask and Lena are back at the Forge with Eve and Mart. KanMien is sniping flying abominations from another rooftop. Silas/Talas/? is going to maybe kill his wife Ambrosia and their kids, Tena is texting somebody. The Alleystorm has died down now. I think that's the general gist of what is up currently.

Sharpe cried out as one of the tails wrapped around him, holding him upside down by the legs. He had managed to leap partway off of the leg before the tail caught him, probably the only thing that kept him from being totally surrounded by the tail. He tried to squirm out of the tail, but to no avail. Both of the tails impaled him straight through the stomach, causing  Shapre to gasp in pain. Stormlight was the only thing keeping him alive. He tried to slash the tail with his cloth, only to realize that it would not cut. As he swung down low to the ground, he used his remaining stormlight to melt the ground, shape a strong handhold, and then yanked. The tails slid out of his gut, and his feet from the tail holding him. He healed part of the way, enough to eradicate the poison, but there were still pretty heavy wounds in his stomach. He hobbled over to some of his men nearby, thankful that Tels was now up and distracting the beast. He prayed to the Almighty that those reinforcements Althea promised would come soon...

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Tels flew dizzily through the air, hoping to catch the beast by surprise as it attacked Sharpe. He had picked up a rather large shard of glass; this time, he would not miss the eyes. As the beast turned around towards Tels, he brought down the shard hard.

I think it's fine. Though Sharpe is probably running out of stormlight...

The creature blinked, and the shard was deflected.

A low growl built in it's throat, and it burst forward, mouth agape, to the man now inches from it's face, mandibles crashing inward.

Aln made another mark in her notebook. "So, once you've conquered the Alleyverse, what's the plan? What's the Alleycity going to be like? What about the government?"

He paused. "The Alleycity? This city will be gone. We'll leave the worldspike, and anything that a high ranking soldier puts merits into saving. Everything else will be burnt to a crisp, and a new city built in its place." He paced back and forth, arms clasped behind his back. "I believe the favored name is Nightshade City. The government will be simple. Lord Ajax and the original Bureau as supreme lords, with absolute power. Below them anyone in the army will be given equal ranking in the government."

Talas snapped upright, gasping for breath. He was not wearing his leather armor, but was instead wearing a tattered white prison jumpsuit, along with green contact lenses. His body might not look the same, but he would do anything he could to hide that he was as different as he was, and thus he wore the green contact lenses. One of his chitin spikes was bothering him and he wasn't used to seeing thick, charcoal colored lines running through his body whenever he looked down. Wait, no, of course he was used to it! This was who Talost was, and Silas was already gone! But he couldn't be gone yet. Talost needed him.

A pulse ran through Talas' body, a internal ripple, starting from the center of his spike, echoing out through through his body, down to the fingertips and bouncing back. It was an alert, of sorts. It told him that his family was coming. His Father was coming, bringing two more of Talas' siblings. Sent to kill.

Ambrosia looked over as Silas became upright. Her eyes widened, and her hand slid up into the sleeve.

"Ah," Tena said to Ambrosia. "Can I talk to him?"

She paused. "I suppose so."

She held out the phone towards Silas.

"Ah," said Aln. "An oligarchy. With power derived purely from control of the military. A military which, might I add, will have recently burned down the most populated part of the Alleyverse and probably killed nearly everybody in it." She sighed, moderating her tone before he could get annoyed. "How are you planning to avoid rioting and rebellion? Are you just going to kill anyone who raises a fuss? It's hardly a sustainable practice."

The storm had dissipated, the winds slowly faded and the rain slowed to a trickle before finally stopping. As with all things, it had eventually come to an end, but not before supplying the city with fresh reserves of Investiture.

Voidus wouldn't usually be inclined to make use of something as chaotic as the storm, but that amount of Investiture wasn't something easy to come by, even for him. And the best plans were, after all, adaptable. But more than anything else, it was simply a convenient way to expedite everything, and the less time that needed to be spent on this the better as far as he was concerned.

Voidus tapped one foot lightly against the ground, seeming to test it for a moment and nodded in satisfaction.

"That should do."

He tapped his foot once more, and a sudden ripple began to spread out in front of them. He steered it clear of the city behind them, but in all other directions the ripple spread out, reaching underneath the feet of the approaching creatures and then spreading further within their ranks. It was slight, barely noticeable initially, but that was all the warning that was to be had as the earth underfoot was Soulcast into water.

Voidus stood atop a single pillar of stone in the midst of what had now become a lake, one foot still held slightly forward with the toe just brushing against the waterline. He watched over the oncoming forces to see how they dealt with the sudden loss of forces, and then glanced over his shoulder to where the Stranger had been with a small smile. He'd 'forgotten' to ensure that his oldest friend had secure footing as well.

Hey Ene, do you think you could please give me a summary of what Zokora is doing, where she is etc.? Because I know it was something with Baker Pi and you, but I don’t really know :P

Yeah! She went down into the tunnels with Pi, here's a description of where they currently are:

Quote

A few minutes of brisk walking more, and the group had arrived at the rooms where TUBA had been letting refugees stay. Rooms might have been an exaggeration; in this area, they were little more than deep gouges in the side of the tunnels, enlarging them and providing space off to the side. Cloth walls had been hung in some places for privacy. The residents of Alleycity here were diverse, but most shared something - the look in their eyes. They didn’t know what would happen to them next, and that was not a good feeling.

“Wait here a second,” Baker Pi said, meeting Zokora’s eyes. Before she could say anything, he swerved off the path and apparently went straight through the wall next to a lamp of spheres. Stormlight fuzzed where he went through the illusion.

After a moment he came back out and beckoned for them to follow him through. On the other side of the Lightweaving was a real room, one that would still be perhaps a little cramped with all the Ghostbloods in it, but it wouldn’t be housing them for too long anyway - at least that’s what Pi hoped. The disaster in their home above them...soon it would be taken care of, right?

It wasn’t his job to worry about stuff like that, but it was his job to worry about things like this. Finding a place for allies to stay a while. There were a handful of simple chairs in the room and a desk, which he now bent over, scribing something on the desk’s lone occupant: a spanreed connected to the closest quartermaster.

They've been talking a little and Zokora just said this, which I'll react to in a second:

On 7/29/2019 at 2:57 AM, Sorana said:

Zokora nodded gratefully and leaned against a wall. “I wanted to thank you. For helping, and letting us in here. This is awful. Do you think there is chance, that we meet now and then? Judge the situation in the city, have an eye on what’s happening? That we work together to prevent these kind of things?”

On 7/31/2019 at 7:36 PM, Sherlock Holmes said:

Say, Ene, Tena is probably wherever Deteca is right now. Where might that be?

Um, well. I assumed she had left to do her own thing, so after the meeting at Didgeridoo, Deteca Alleytraveled away to talk with DA people and then left to head back into the tunnels. So Tena could've gone to the tunnels after Didgeridoo?

Hey Voidus, how far does the Soulcasting spread out? Since other people are also fighting I was wondering if they'd get caught up in it.

Shouldn't affect anyone who's fighting inside the city, just everything that was coming in from the outside. But if anyone is outside then yeah it's pretty likely they'll be affected, this was a significant range.

So, at this point, most forces would have been in the city. Also, quite a few of those left wouldn't need oxygen. Still a sizable blow, but you might want to take this into account.

The creatures that remained outside the city began dropping into the water one after the other, with barely a moment to react. Some it seemed had flying capabilities that hadn't been utilized yet, but that shouldn't cause too much of an issue. Voidus stood impassively, watching the sudden splashes of mass dropping below the waterline. Of course water in and of itself was unlikely to be effective for long, if they'd had any thought put into their design then they'd have contingencies for simple oxygen deprivation, or they could simply swim to the shoreline and eventually find land again. If they were given the chance to do so.

"You remember the days when we still found interest in simple chemistry?" Voidus called over his shoulder towards the Stranger. "I must admit I still have an occasional moment of immaturity where I recreate some simple reactions. Did we ever try rubidium with water?"

He lifted his ankle, pulling his foot away from the water and allowing a few droplets to slide from the leather back into the lake that had been created where they sent small ripples throughout the waters surface.

"You may want to tap some healing for this." Voidus said as he brought the toe of his shoe back down to the water for a third time.

An immense lattice with a silvery sheen suddenly spread across the surface, spider webbing across until it reached the land that formed the boundaries of the sudden water source. The silvery sheen floated silently for a moment, supported by the anchors at the shoreline and briefly reflecting the sunlight that had begun to filter through the final layer of clouds from the storm.

And then the surface of the water heaved violently upwards as the rubidium rapidly reacted with the surrounding water and explosively burst into flame.

The Leader stepped forward, jumping slightly over Sethramir, the pewter letting her do exactly what she wanted.

She landed behind the blade, and slid out the blade on her left hand, flicking it out towards the chained Max.

The stone spike struck, but it didn't pierce the helmet. It left a long crack in the helmet, but the Leader ignored it.

She jumped over the blade and Max dismissed it. He saw her move to flick a blade towards him and he twisted his upper body, grabbing a piece of shattered rock from the stone spike and using it to block the knife. The lack of sound was eerie, Max couldn’t hear the impacts his or the leader’s attacks were making. The chain dug deeper in him and he cursed.

Althea still hung by and watched, thinking of what to do next. She gripped the wall, looked to the fight they were both having. A fight Max seemed to be losing. Hesitating she stepped a fraction closer and soulcasted the floor the Leader was under to air. Hopefully that would buy them more time.

Opening the door to the roof Wes stared with wide eyes. Mike was right next to him.

“Woah,” Wes said, looking to the abomination, and to the grunts that were also fighting. He stopped in place, unsure of what to do.

“Which one is Tels?” Mike asked and Wes nodded, searching through his device and finding the face of who Tels was. He looked up and saw it was the same man who was leading the forces against the abomination. Of course, they had to help out against the weird scorlion-manbat thing, not a regular grunt. A full on monster.

They jogged over to Tels.

Grabbing Max's leg in a two handed grip, she pulled.

He would fall with her.

The beast growled as Tels ran, but quickly lost interest, turning and squishing a soldier, grinding him into the pavement, cracking the pavement underneath, and skewering the  squished soldier with it's claws.

Then it raised it's four wings, and made a massive flap, it's entire body rocketing forward, soldiers flying back and slamming into the walls, one unlucky soldier skewered on the road sign.

It landed with a mighty thud in front of Sharpe, and it's tails spread out in a menacing fan behind it. They shot forward, and wrapped around the building behind Sharpe. Then it brought the building down on top of him.

The storm was over. Thankfully the voidless storm was over. He was alone in his head again. He shoulders sank down a little when he allowed himself to relax a bit as he followed Wes over the rooftop. He wished there were Guns n' Ninjas here with them, wondered where the others had gone, if they had managed to escape the building alive. Maybe. Maybe not. There was a chance he would never know. Mike stared over the city for a moment, stared and stared, his eyes empty when he considered what had happened, what he had lost. Bella. She had betrayed him. She was behind the attack. She had commanded her troops to spare him. Mike felt empty when he recalled the words of the creature, how it had turned away from him, from them. He had trusted Bella, had believed her words about protecting the gang, about standing up for those you were responsible for. Her words tasted like ash in his mouth now. Maybe it was good. A new chapter, something else he could do, a new path he could take. One without the gang, without split loyalties. Seom and Wes. They relied on him. And he could do it.

Axe, Seom is here as well. Itiah and me decided to send the remaining Guns n' Ninjas over to Truthless character as reinforcements, since they had nothing really to do.
