Can the kandra appear as just body parts?

I feel bad not to remember this but is it possible for kandra to look like parts of a body and not a whole body? Or, suppose you had a small enough kandra, for whatever reason... Could the kandra on Roshar(?) be hiding as someone's body part?

Based on this:

Quote

Cadmium (Written)(paraphrased)

Would it actually be possible for a kandra to "become a rusting bunny?".

Brandon Sanderson (Written)(paraphrased)

Yes, But it would be tough.

Brandon Sanderson(paraphrased)

They must keep a certain mass to maintain intelligence and a bunny is very small.

Cadmium(paraphrased)

But obviously being a Harvey sized bunny is totally doable.

Brandon Sanderson(paraphrased)

Yeah... Good movie reference. Calamity Houston signing (Feb. 24, 2016)

I would assume a leg, head, or torso would be possible, but not necessarily a foot or a hand.

I think that'd be hilarious, but highly unlikely and not particularly useful.

Something inside of Wit's pants began wriggling. Shallan looked away, embarrassed.

"Oh, don't mind her," Wit said, reaching into his pants and pulling out an unmentionable object. "She's just hiding. She's usually sociable but..."

"She?!" Shallan shrieked, realizing what Wit seemed to be saying, and realizing what it looked like she was looking at, and how dissimilar the word and the image were.

The "She"-thing from Wit's pants sighed. "He's right, though..."

Being a body part isn't very useful. You can't see, hear, or even smell very well. All you can do is taste and feel rough vibrations. Plus, you can't move around very well.

I suppose it might be useful to break into a morgue, if your cover corpse was dismembered. Take the place of a leg, wait until you're in the morgue, digest the whole corpse. But then, dismembering probably broke some bones. Better to just use a whole corpse... But then, can a kandra replicate a dead body? What if they just left out the heart so there was no blood flow? The body probably wouldn't function as a body, but that's kind of the point. They probably wouldn't be able to mimic decomposition well.

This got a little dark... =)

It's important to remember that Kandra dont ever "replicate" a body, they just mold themselves into what they decide is the the correct shape.  They cant even replicate things like hair, they have to take the originals when they "digest" the body and place them individually on themselves.  What they can do is create their own version of functional sensory organs like eyes and ears, and there's nothing that requires them to be placed in a skull, so they should be capable of creating them wherever they are useful, even on the palm of their hand.

Still, Im in the camp of the biggest limit on becoming a body-part is the Equal Mass/Volume issue.  They might be able to pull it off with on a large enoguh person, but at the end of the day there are going to be easier places to hide, anything from an animal (something with an exoskeleton would be a novel experience) to an inanimate object (Personally Id impersonate the inner lining of a set of plate).  Life as a Ryshadium would be a pretty decent retirement.
