Zura smiled slightly as she saw a Tühine man stick his head out and attack a bush with Entropy. That was always a fun Instinct to deal with. She would save the joy of fighting him for last. The man stepped outside and was joined by another woman. She didn’t look Tühine or Cahayan. Ta’e’iloan, maybe? She didn’t seem to have a weapon, but that didn’t rule out much. Weapons could be concealed, and Instincts could come as quite a surprise. She sneaked around the side of the carriage, leaving a wide space between her and the vehicle and confident that there was no chance they would notice her. Approaching the back of the carriage, she stood a fair distance from the Tühine guard with the bow and arrow, examining him. He would have to go first, with that long range, powerful looking weapon. Her throwing knifes would not do well in a fight against him, and she couldn’t risk his getting out of her immediate vicinity and attacking from a distance while she was fighting the man with the Instinct of Entropy. Carefully she crept forwards until she was directly behind him, readying one of her larger knifes. She thrust it forwards, her Instinct making it so that the blade easily found a path through the rib cage and directly to the man’s heart. He fell forwards with a small thud, not moving. He raised his arm and threw a tomahawk towards her, charging forward with his other one. Price peeked out and saw a pool of blood next to Tühinine colours. “Entropy’s touch!” He cursed quietly. He looked to Sagitta. “One of the guards is dead.”

He looked to Sagitta. “One of the guards is dead.” "Stay back, try to distract them." Sagitta told him and slowly moved around the corner of the carriage. Her steps were smooth again, all hints at limping gone. She picked up a longer branch lying around, close to the street. One end looked, like it had been gnawed on, and she took it in two hands. It was no sword, off balance and slightly too short. But it was better than nothing. She was relaxed, for the first time since she met Price she realyed completely, found calm in that quiet place she moved into while fighting. A fight was about your will, about your opponent. It was about a strong, hard will and everything else - "Intensity guide my steps." She whispered quietly. Stepping around the carriage she straightened, made sure to show off her full height. "Who are you, and what do you want?" @Lunamor
Lunamor she/her Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 (edited) Zura cursed softy as a tomahawk wizzed past her head, narrowly avoiding severing her ear. She turned towards the other guard. He must’ve had Facet to be able to detect her like that. She hated that Instinct. It was no fun. He rushed forwards with his tomahawk and she ran over her limited options. She could run- that was unacceptable. She could fight at close quarters- also unacceptable, with his larger weapon. Her only viable option seemed to be attacking from a distance. Quickly she grabbed a knife with each hand, hurling them both at him simultaneously. One of those was practically guaranteed to hit. Sure enough, the guard tried to dodge the left one but went straight into the path of the right one. It impaled itself in his thigh, sending him to the ground and immobilizing him. Another person stepped around the side of the carriage, a tall woman holding a branch. That stick, oddly enough, worried her. She definitely had a powerful instinct if she could look that confident only holding a flimsy piece of wood. Was she another Entropy, maybe? She responded to her question. ”I am Zura. I want Tühine to surrender to Cahaya, one of those nice looking horses, and a bucket of gold coins.” @Sorana Edited August 25, 2019 by Lunamor Forgot to @

Her leg moved oddly- it looked injured. She would have to use that to her advantage. It was likely her only chance at winning. She hit the ground at an angle, causing her to roll to the side. That turned what would have been a possibly immobilizing strike on her back into a hit that barely skimmed her side. Scrambling to her feet she launched herself at the injured leg without hardly thinking, intending to slam herself into it and knock Sagitta over.

A grim smile spread on Sagittas lips when she realized Zura's mistake. Never try the same attack twice. A lunge was quick and a lunge was dangerous as you could use your whole body mass. But you had no way to change your direction. Instead of avoiding the blow, the accepted it, let the branch crash down on Zura's back again. She aimed for the spine, maim, then kill. The impact was painful, but she reduced the force until it was easy to remain standing. Sagitta grunted in pain, but it was nothing, only a reminder of her wound. She'd been hurt worse.

She couldn’t knock Sagitta down, and that scared her. If she couldn’t do that, then it would be impossible for her to win. She didn’t have any weapons heavy enough to even bruise her, and she was too small to provide the force needed to push her over. She decided that continuing to fight this woman would not end well, so she tried to scramble away on hands and feet, staying low so she would stay out of Sagitta’s easy hitting range. She moved at an extremely reckless place, knowing that her chances of tripping were basically non existent.

She moved at an extremely reckless place, knowing that her chances of tripping were basically non existent. Sagitta only readied her stance, didn't even try to hit her, while scrambling away. There was no honor to do so. Instead she changed her position slightly, made sure she covered the door and the way to Price. Couldn't hurt to have the one with Entropy in your back. Zura didn't trip, although she moved fast, and only now Sagitta understood who she was facing. Probability instinct. They were the hardest on the battlefield. Entropy was destructive, but Probability usually came as a surprise. A part of her wondered if Price had watched, if he had seen her use her instinct, really use it. No jumping from ladders, this was what she knew. Fighting. This was what she had trained, where she used her instinct. Who cared if she could jump down a ladder, when she managed to survive a deadly blow? Narrow minded, as it never hurt to learn all aspects of a weapon, but she'd never needed it, her skills with the long sword, more important than extending her skills aorund her instinct. Price tests offered a nice chance to change that. Something warm ran down her leg and she grit her teeth against the pain. The stiches. Probably she had ripped them, when catching that last blow. She had to check, as soon as the danger was over. Edited August 25, 2019 by Sorana
Lunamor she/her Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 (edited) Sagitta didn’t follow after Zura and she internally breathed a sigh of relief. She would avoid fighting her if at all possible once she took out the Tühine man. Her honor was the only reason she was alive at the moment. But Sagitta was also blocking the only way to her target. She moved to running on two legs and eventually stopped a fair distance away, trying to ignore the pain of her back. The carriage wasn’t going anywhere without the horses, so if she waited long enough, either Sagitta would move from the door to attack or the man would exit the carriage to fight her. They couldn’t maintain a stalemate forever. Quote For the monster thing: I’m planning to have Zura lose the fight and get taken prisoner (if that is possible with your characters) and then negotiate their letting her escape the monsters with them on one of the runaway horses by telling them that her Probability could let them outrun the monsters by preventing their horses from tripping, by making the monsters trip, etc. (I’m sorry if that doesn’t make sense, I’m terrible at explaining things). Does that work? @Sorana @I think I am here. Edited August 25, 2019 by Lunamor I keep forgetting to @

Does that work? Quote Sagitta fights to kill, but if your character asks for mercy she will grant it. I orient her a bit on the medieval knights, with their tight honor code, as much as that fits in a fantasy setting. From what I've seen from Price so far, he won't let you. His character hates Cahayans a lot. In my opinion, it might work better, if we get attacked by the monsters now, and the three of us barely manage to escape and then have to work together. I think that ups our chances to get a working group. But actually Itiah is more important in that regard, Price is more difficult. Edited August 25, 2019 by Sorana

I think I am here. he/him Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 (edited) Quote *claps* That was a really well done fight scene, you two. Anyway, yes, Price is going to be difficult. I’m fine with the idea of the monster forcing them to work together. Price watched from behind the carriage, his awe of how skilfully Sagitta acted in combat only matched by the sudden hate he felt when he looked at the features of the attacker, found them remarkably similar to the Cahayan captive he had in the carriage. Price wondered about taking the captive hostage but it seemed it wasn’t needed as Sagitta beat the attacker with just a stick. Running by Sagitta’s side he cursed and called to the formally dressed man, who ran outside along with the plainly dressed woman and a leather pouch which contained medical supplies. Turning to her he asked her whether her instinct told her anything about medical practises and she nodded, got to work on the guard who had gotten a knife in his thigh. After she was done with him she moved over to Sagitta and began to work on her. Price only looked ahead where the Cahayan attacker had run. Briefly he considered chasing her when a roar pierced the sky. —<>— Meanwhile, a feral animal stalked Zura. Slowly it appeared out of the foliage, a couple feet from her. Clamped in its jaws was the head of a horse, which it dropped. The head fell to the ground with a thud and slowly rolled towards Zura. The animal was green with tiger-like fur and stripes, probably to aid in camouflage in the forest. It’s limbs were long and slender and it’s claws were massive, like the size of small machetes, probably to assist in climbing. Staring at Zura with bright yellow eyes it tilted back its head and roared. They had a saying about these creatures. If it had the confidence to show itself to you, then you were probably already dead. @Sorana @Lunamor Edited August 26, 2019 by I think I am here.

The woman only raised an eyebrow and shook her head. Quickly she replaced the ripped stiches with new ones and Sagitta had to grip the carriage with one hand to fight the pain. She knew about pain. But still, without the heat of battle it hurt. Paling she looked over, to where Zura had run, suspected that she was still there, watched, observed. A roar pierced the sky and she looked around, couldn't see the predator. Not yet, at least. If it smelled the blood. She winced when the woman wrapped a new bandage around her leg, pulled it tight. "I'd also take a short sword, against whatever that is." Her voice slightly pressed, she talked to Price again. "I doubt I can scare that thing away with a branch." The woman stood up and Sagitta bent down to pick up the knife. A knife. She hated fighting with a knife. Close ranged, quickly ended in a brawl. Like every soldier in her unit she had a shorter side weapon, she wielded alrightish, but the knife looked like you could use it to eat, nothing more. "And preferably some armour as well." She offered the knife to Price, if only to hold it, until she had her hands free again. Besides she doubted that he would be fine with her having an actual weapon.

The head bumped into Zura’s foot and she was suddenly simultaneously angry and scared out of her mind. On one hand, she was mad at the creature for destroying one of those beautiful animals. On the other hand, it was likely to destroy her next. It made for an odd mix of emotions that swirled around in her head, battling against each other and making thinking hard. The only clear thought she had was that, for the first time, the odds were not in her favor. As it finished its roar, the creature’s knife like claws and cruel yellow eyes shocked her back to her senses. She and the beast moved at the same time, both in the direction of the carriage. She didn’t even think about the fact that she was running straight towards a group of people who also wanted to kill her. She put all of her focus into running as fast as possible, faster than anyone without Probability could run without tripping over their own feet. Even at this speed, the monster still gained on her, coming an inch closer with every stride. The blood from the horse’s head had covered her shoes, and now she left a series of bloody footprints on the ground. @I think I am here. @Sorana Edited August 26, 2019 by Lunamor
