So, copper’s feruchemical attribute is memory. You store the memory in the coppermind and draw it out to remember it. Since compounding enhances feruchemical attributes, would compounding copper permanently sear the memory into your brain? And calling back to my duralumin compounding post, what would happen then?

Brandon's consistently RAFO'd what happens with copper compounding, but it's for sure going to have some weird effects, I'll bet.

This has always bothered me.  Can't wait to see the weirdos who have compounded copper memories though.

It had been said a couple times in The Final Empire that TLR had a perfect memory, most people think copper compounding was related.

That is also something that could have ran in TLR's family. Kwann was his uncle (if I recall correctly) and said "I need not a Feruchemist's metalminds" for his perfect recall.

Never thought of that or seen anyone suggest it, have an upvote!

A charismatic Full Feruchemist with leadership skills and perfect recall, working as... a packman? He could, no, should have been DOMINANT!

I mean I'd be mad too. Think about it: you're witnessing your peers voluntarily bring themselves further into subjugation by a nation that's constantly had domination over your own, without anything really special about them, and now one of them has been decided to be, essentially, a demigod? With no powers (as far as they're aware, I think, since I don't think any of them knew that Alendi was a Seeker)? While you have the ability to store and recall everything from memories to health to strength?

I'd be steamed to the point where you could have cooked a lobster on my head.

To be fair he was sent on that mission as an assassination attempt I do not think packing(packmaning?) was his day job.

Hmm. Alendi observed about him,

Quote

It seems Rashek represents a growing faction in Terris culture. A large number of the youths think that their unusual powers should be used for more than just fieldwork, husbandry, and stonecarving. They are rowdy, even violent—far different from the quiet, discerning Terris philosophers and holy men that I have known.

Those darn kids!
