Kinda hard as she originally worldhopped in and has just worldhopped out of Roshar... Will we see her in SA again any time soon? Though if her mission was to pursue Nightblood and Vasher/Zahel, both of them are still on Roshar, so I guess we will. On 5/1/2019 at 4:52 PM, Nymeros said: Syl is sufficient. Kaladin isn't friendly, and isn't really down with relaxing and opening up.....the person he felt closest to in Bridge 4 was Moash of all people. I cannot imagine him having too many friends. I think this may be right. Go back to the flashback scenes from Kaladin's growing up - who were his friends? He didn't seem to have many even then: Tien, and Laral. So it's not seeing Tien get killed, or his branding and enslavement by Amaram, that brutalized him into closing up; he was never exactly an open guy to begin with. The other children in the village seemed to regard him as aloof, which he was. After all, part of being a "protector" mentality is "acting as a guardian to dependents", which he has always exhibited. And as Adolin has observed more than once, he never seems to be "off duty", either. An intense and serious person, is our Kaladin. For that matter, has Kaladin ever told a joke or pulled a prank? What's the lightest we've seen Kaladin be? He bust a gut laughing when Rock told his story of being sent to Bridge Four for cooking chull dung into Sadeas' food and said "This! This is what we've been missing!", but that's him reacting to Rock. 1

Also, she was going to Cultivation's perpendicularity, which is in Roshar, so I think she's still on-planet. I think that he was generally a serious person, and his depression didn't exactly make him more social.

joesleepsalot he/him Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 My reasoning for azure is based mostly on the Die Hard style “hunch” that Carl Winslow has about Bruce Willis lol. The way Kaladin and Azure interact in Kholinar screams mutual respect and intrigue w/zero romance. Since Warbreaker is linked strongly to Stormlight, even if Azure is a minor character FOR NOW in Stormlight, I think those two are gonna become the mighty ducks equivalent of the Bash Brothers before long
Guest Coda Posted June 6, 2020 Posted June 6, 2020 I can see Kaladin and Numuhukiakiaki'aialunamor bonding over losing siblings.
dannnex male Posted June 6, 2020 Posted June 6, 2020 I think Kal has had another emotional connection besides just Tein and Shallan. Possibly even a romantic one. I don't think we know much about it but I think a name is mentioned a few times. Timeline wise I think t was right after he got his brands and made a slave. Someone in his first slave group I think. I'll edit this later if I find the name.
jamesbondsmith He/him Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 As others said, I think Syl is the best bet, although I can certainly imagine a situation where she's so omnipresent that he has to remind her that he needs some privacy (like if he doesn't want her 'yelling encouragement from the headboard'). Of the options you gave, Adolin seems most likely. I'm wondering (with little hard evidence, mind you) whether he may be more friendly with someone he doesn't have to worry about protecting. It seems like the general consensus is that Dalinar is the second coming of Honor or Adonalsium, with all the power that implies, while Lift and Renarin both have Radiant powers specifically devoted to healing on top of their Stormlight healing. The deaths of people he cares about haunt him, so he may be more open to someone who he is less likely to lose. Again, little hard evidence.
