A short-haired man stepped off the train. He checked his ticket, and the sky. Close enough.

“Edmund Hillary climbed Everest because it was there. That is considered one of the greatest athletic feats in... well, not this world, but on another one. Great achievements do not need motivation beyond themselves to do. The act of doing is enough to motivate it.”

Magnus smiled. The train departed, travelling somewhere that was not, leaving no mark of its existence.
