overlord stick Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 (edited) Quote okay thanks, he actually recommended this to me when I said I hadn't roleplayed in awhile. Edited April 3, 2019 by Sir Stick of the Sticks
AonEne he/him Posted April 3, 2019 Author Posted April 3, 2019 (edited) Quote Welcome...can I call you Sir? I already know a Stick on here. We're glad to have you. I'll add you to the OP. BoS, if you decide to leave, I won't stop you. We'll miss you. Ax, I've added your profile, thanks! It's Ax's character; if he wants to write a transgender character, he's allowed to. If you have a problem with that, you could pretend Axl is completely male and ignore the part of his backstory before that. If you want to discuss gender identities and/or sexuality, let's do it in a PM. 27 minutes ago, Sir Stick of the Sticks said: ...he actually recommended this to me when I said I hadn't roleplayed in awhile. AonEne he/him Posted April 3, 2019 Author Posted April 3, 2019 Quote It's fine! Happens all the time. Can I call you Sir, then? Or would you prefer something else? SSOTS, etc.?

BringerofShadows she/her Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Quote I honestly really want to do this RP. But I am having a problem with tone, I want to be the villain. But the story isn’t meant for Revel, and I don’t want to force it that way.

little wheel he/him Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Quote It wasn't the character. It was the setting she came from. Depending on how they are used, characters like that have been my favorite. Just make sure you don't invite my old DM because he would probably try to summon a god to kill you off solely because "you were to edgy, man".
AonEne he/him Posted April 3, 2019 Author Posted April 3, 2019 Quote If you want to write a character whose spren isn't a good guy, you're fine to do that. The story is for everyone, including Revel. Xino, you wanna talk about this in a PM? With just me, or can I invite others?

They hadn't warmed up, but then she doubted she'd have that time in a real fight either. Stepping up in front of him she bowed out of habit and then lifted her hands in a defensive stance, covering part of her upper body and face. Her eyes left his face, focused on a point on his breast bone. Taking another deep breath she inhaled some stormlight and then attacked him with a straight blow to his face. No need to go all out with the first attack. She used the stormlight to enhance her speed, while carefully checking her distance. If she hit she'd hopefully bruise not break his bones. They were sparring after all. Rob inhales some stormlight and strode forward taking the blow without dodge. It burned, but he didn’t show it on his face. Stomping on the ground he tried turning the ground in front of him liquid, and ripped a part of his sleeve off.

Solid ground gave way when she stepped on it, a cool liquid touching her toes. With a scream she threw herself to the side, away from the pool of stone, fear erasing everything else. She tumbled to the ground, instictively made a role to stop her fall and got back to her feet. Deliberatly she took another breath, forced herself to concentrate despite the fast beating of her heart, the slight shaking of her fingers. She could do this. She had to be strong. With a grim smile she mentally touched his shoelaces and cut them almost apart, until only a single thread held them in place.

Still she kept her focus and mentally reached out for his shoes, attempted to slicken their undersides. Hopefully that would through him off balance when he moved again. Then she lifted her leg, kicked straight at him, aiming for his stomach.

Slowly he began to sink, and he reached out for Shana’s leg, and tried to pull her in with him.

His hand grabbed her leg and he pulled her towards him, her leg slipping over solid ground until she felt the liquid encasing her leg, pulling her down, deeper down. Shana screamed, tried to hold on to something, anything, but the ground was even and he was stronger than she. Fear clenched her heart in its merciless grasp and - Water closing over her face, hands flailing wildly - "Your leg, now." Mahad shouted and she inhaled more stormlight slicked her leg, pulled again, but still he held her. Unsurprisingly as her control over her surges was mediocre at best. She was sinking, slowly, but she was sinking. With another scream she lunged towards him, clawed at his face with her nails.

The scratches made long, red marks down Rob’s and abruptly he thumped the liquid, instantly making it solid again, trapping him and Shana in its stone grasp. He took a moment, breathing, his face burned like hell but his face remained cold, showing his pain was bad. The pain flared and Rob clenched his teeth and then it slowly subsided. Reaching over he tried to control how much he liquified, only making the area he was in liquid. Slowly he crawled out of the ground and made it solid again. He sat down. “That was good,” he said, hiding any tremble that might have slipped through.

She wiped at her cheeks, only now realizing that she'd started crying, her hands leaving dirty streaks behind. Now that she calmed down her arm hurt and she winced, before holding it close to her chest. He crawled out, left her behind and she realized he would have to change the stone again for her to get out as well. The thought alone was enough to make her sick. "Just leave me here." She told him weakly, tried to turn her face away, but wasn't able to move enough. Instead she looked down at the ground.

I think I am here. he/him Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Quote Whenever is fine. 59 minutes ago, Sorana said: “Just leave me here." She told him weakly, tried to turn her face away, but wasn't able to move enough. Instead she looked down at the ground. Rob looked to Shana, and sat next to her, cross-legged. “No. You would break out using Division then. And then Doc would have to come down and fix the stones, which would be an inconvenience.” He looked closer when he saw she was crying. Rob understood sadness. He’d felt it on occassion. Never showed it. He guessed it must have been his father’s drills: men didn’t cry. It had been so long he’d almost felt disconnected from the emotion itself. Slowly he rested a hand on the stone near Shana. “I didn’t know you were afraid of water,” he said.

"I don't remember much, only the screams, sinking, water pressing on my face - I." Shaking her head she stopped. "You couldn't know, don't worry." After taking a deep breath she forced herself to smile at him, to show him that she wasn't angry, that it was alright. "I need to get past this, it's my job to fight for them. To make sure they are safe." She said loudly, but the words were for Mahad, not for Rob and partially they were for herself. "And now?" She asked Rob, looking at him again.
