Meandering Monotreme
Hi! I'm Tangletalon, and I love fantasy. If you want me to be more specific, I love Brandon Sanderson. If Sandersonism was a religion, I would be a Sandersonist. WoK is my bible, as in I read it again and again, assuming every word has meaning and actually finding meaning in every word. Now, about my interests in the fake--I mean, non-WoK--world. I love math. When I say I "love" math, I mean I do math in my spare time, when I'm boared. When I am being attacked by an angry boar, I do math. I love math almost as much as I love reading (although not as much as I love Brandon Sanderson). I also love reading. I have more trouble deciding if something is a bad book than most (if I decide a fantasy book is a bad book, it is often because someone has told me it is). I like some teen fiction (Rick Riorden, Diane Duane) as well as the Inheritance cycle and, of course, Robert Jordan, and, most of all, Brandon Sanderson. I actually don't as much as I would like to, because I have trouble finding books to read. Even if I go to the bookstore, I am very cynical and will usually assume that I won't like the book. So yeah, now you know about me. RESPOND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did I mention that I am completely yet figuratively insane?
Arcanist Lupus he/him
Nice to meet you, I'm Introducing Myself, I'm Sir Read-a-Lot. I'd be happy to suggest some good books that you might like.
Chaos he/him
Another math person! This excites me. There are actually a lot of them on the boards. I'm a math major in college, so you're in good company. I'm glad you could join us! I'm Eric, I'm the forum administrator. I spend much of my time on the theory boards, but I'm all around here. We'll interact a lot, I'm sure!
Joe ST he/him
evening mr Tangle, I also like maths and reading just a little too much Sandersonism sounds fun
Alliare she/her
Hiya! I also love maths, so it seems you just got in touch with the right people here. Though I don't do maths in my free time... if there is something such as that. I read in my free time. I'll do maths if someone gives me one of those problems you can spend a good time figuring out how to solve them. There is a book recommendations topic in this forum, somewhere (I could get you the link... but this way you'll have to roam the forums by yourself ), so you'll have no excuse for not reading as much as you should. My recommendations are pretty good... because I say it, of course. But take a look at everyone else's, or they'll kill me. By the way, I'm Alliare. Nice to meet you! SOM1else he/him
I do not love maths, I feel like a minority on these boards sometimes because of it. As you love WoK so much I'm going to give you this quote, "Adonalsium. Have you ever heard the term?" If you have Go check out Chaos/Eric's theories sometime, they're gonna blow your mind! If you haven't heard the term, whatever you do don't read them until you haven read ALL of Brandon's books (by all I mean everything except WoT and Alcatraz). Actually stay away from the General Theories board as a whole until you finish all of the books. And if you HAVE finished them (which as a Sandersonist I would hope you have) get on over there and prepare to be enlightened with one of the coolest things in fantasy literature. I feel as though I'm forgeting somthing... OH! Yes I remember now! Here, have a cookie, Kchan baked them but I'm determined to make sure every new member that posts an intro thread recieves one. Eerongal he/him
Welcome, Tangletalon! Hope you enjoy your stay here with us at the 17th shard! Yeah, there's quite a number of people around here who likes math as you see (myself included, though it's hard to NOT like math when you're a software engineer). Also, insanity usually fits in fairly well around here, too.

KChan she/her
I see what you did there, Kuri. Welcome, Tangletalon! I'm not much of a math person myself, but I've been known to ask Eric math questions or let him randomly teach me calculus over skype. That's really about it. I'm a wordsmith, not a number-cruncher. I am, however, "completely yet figuratively insane," as you so eloquently put it, and as was said above, we're no strangers to insanity around here. Don't worry, you're in good company. Zas678 he/him
Welcome to 17th Shard Senior Tangleton! Or if you prefer it, 2^(4)+1th Shard. Whatever floats your boat. You like Math eh? Have you read the Redshift and Iron Metalmind discussions over in the Mistborn thread? You're sure to like those.... http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/233-redshift/ And http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/888-effects-of-iron-feruchemy/ They've got a lot of really interesting things in them. Though, truth be told, they're a little more physics than math, but meh.
