He's a good jumping off point to discuss the economy of the camps and Urithiru.

He also acts as an interesting example of the importance of diversity in perspectives and personalities.  Jasnah's notes and Dalinar's thoughts dismiss him as a fool because they are all business and super serious and as such view him as a fool.  Shallan is more irreverent though and is able to discern that Seb is more clever than he lets on and is a very useful ally in his own way (economy+trade).

Sebarial's carefree nature as opposed to Dalinar and Jasnah's is certainly a reason why they disdain him, but I think there's more to it than that. Sadeas could be quite irrelevant as well, and they didn't disdain him for that reason.

Quirks not withstanding, both Dalinar and Jasnah are the very embodiment of everything Alethi society thinks a man and a woman are supposed to be, while Sebarial...isn't.

I've always thought their disdain for him had some root in that.

That's also why I hope he isn't secretly a Ghostblood, even though that would be a good twist. It's nice to have Sebarial around as a self-assured contrast to the usual Alethi temperament.

It is kinda weird to be gay, I spend every day wondering why I'm a mutant without superpowers :(:P

You know, I’d never thought about it, but you make a good point. Where are my superpowers, too? And would I only get half the potential superpowers?
