Gasping for air, Light didn't know what to do. She wasn't afraid for herself, only the others.

Slow your breathing, Light. she told herself. You'll figure this out - at least try. Buy her some more time.

She tapped aluminum and let her Identity fill her. The simple action reassured her, however temporarily. After a moment she stopped. No need to waste more than was necessary.

Light looked at him straight and with the Acute glare in her eye said, "Freedom isn't something you can chain down. If you could, it wouldn't really be free."

Then she shut her mouth, bracing for more wrath. It was sure to come.

His eyes glowed with a ghostly fire. "Then Freedom will cease to exist." A purple aura surrounded him. "And don't worry. I won't hurt you." He pushed her to the wall. "I've got better options." He pulled out a metal spike. "Yes, I've got better options." He slammed the spike through her heart. "Loyalty spike." He walked backwards, watching the rest. "You will comply to pain." A dark red pulse went through the aura. "If you do not, another will be spiked." He grabbed a whip, he kept it for scenarios with thieves. This would work too. He slammed it into them each, whip cracking. One by one, he made it down the row. Until he reached Compile. "I was told you were the leader. I didn't believe him." His eyes glowed eerily. "Perhaps it is true. And what better way to find out?" He cracked the whip, beating her over and over.

Right. I remember that now. I just have a few quick comments/questions.

Second to last sentence from this. Isn't Hellbent not quite hellbent anymore? What is it loyalty to?

And, he only had one left.

is an empty threat?

Unless you plan to say that these are loyalty to Crow in which case I must ask: how easy or hard are these spikes to come by? If they were common, why did Hellbent call it his "last" one and if they're uncommon, how does Crow have?

It is his only one, Hellbent made sure he had one before leaving. Hellbent had one, which is now laying in a burning city, and Crow had one, which is now in her. It is an empty threat.

Okay...we'll go with it. Though you did never answer the question of "what does it even do if Hellbent is kind of gone since it was loyalty to him directly and not the cause in general?"

Compile didn't make a sound. She didn't move. She didn't think. Well, she did think. Just very, very slowly. Lips pressed together and jaw set, she wouldn't give him the reaction he was hoping for. Compile refused to act like any other four year old. Besides, any other four year old wouldn't be in her situation.

She stopped draining mental speed and managed to stifle a scream. Her brain only now accepted the true pain, it had been slower in coming before. Slowly she opened her mouth. "Hello, Crow," she said steadily, looking him in the eye."Leader is a pretty strong title that doesn't belong to me. But I'll borrow it for now if that's what counts as 'complying'."

Well, if Ani ever came by she would have been loyal to him.

His eyes glowed. "So it was true." He grabbed her by the back of her neck, and started to choke her. "Why did she run? Where did she go?" His voice was dangerous, like a wild animal waiting to strike at the slightest mistake. When her face started to turn blue, he threw her to the ground, and summoned the shardblade. He put it up to her neck. "WHERE IS SHE?"

So, nothing, basically.

She didn't even blink, she was that still. For a moment.

"To Prism of course," Compile said. "And no, I haven't got the foggiest idea of where that is, so don't ask. 'Leader' or not, I'm four, remember?"

What a great 1,250th post. A four year old doing her best not to sound snarky.

The Blast stars that were marching, along with Dusk's entire force, sprayed a hail of shells up at the jet, and any fighters that were hanging back in reserve, which amounted to about 75 swarmed at the fighter.

They couldn't pilot a ultimate, but a shriek is fairly easy to pilot. Super lifeless could.\

Also, Koteil, they don't kn about the Chaos marines.

The Jackal walked up to the Crow, or his second in command, depending on if the Crow was still there or not, and said, "They will reach the wall soon. It would be a very good tactical advantage if Chaos marines could be lying in weight directly inside the wall. Also, it will give your men a taste of blood and you an opportunity to fight these weaklings up close and personnel."

Dwig ignored the projectiles, ramming the throttle to full and pushing the yoke down. The plane crashed into the ground, plowing a furrow into the earth. It sat there, smoking.

A squad of Precursors came over, "Hello. It has come to our attention that you believe that we are the enemy if GB. We are not their enemy. Our core values are that the governing body of the area should have authority over the laws of the area. All we want is to enforce those laws. If the GB does not want us to be those enforcers in their area, the solution is quite simple; We won't be those enforcers. If you do not support us, as a member of GB, then you will have diplomatic immunity when this is all over. For now, if you want to side with the Den of Thieves, you have that choice, but unless your leader, whoever the heck that is, says that they side with them you do not do so as GB, you do so as a private contractor. Now that we've cleared that up," The precursors leveled their weapons at him.

Did you miss the part of the entire thing rising up a kilometer out of the ground? It goes deeper then that, so it isn't flying, but that wall isn't much help.

The canopy popped open and Dwig jumped out, holding a plasma rifle.

"I have only one thing to say. Happy new year, ya rusting cremheads." he quipped, before opening fire on the group.

The wall is plenty useful. Also, it would have been a much better tactical advantage to wait for us to breach the wall, and then rise it into the air. Now we have a clear shot ar the base.

The Blaststars started firing their shells and plasma blasts at the base of the giant rock tower to drill through it and cause it to fall over and kill everyone on the top.

The jackal felt to rim shake on the rock tower. He thought it might be drilled through, especially if the drill things from the Citadel were brought, which they appeared to be. He personally believed that the should lower down.

The Precursor squad that was theri all moved away, and 2 out of the 12 their got hit. They then began to spray their guns at the man. They were using electric armor piercing rounds. The swaud leader yelled happy new year back. Snipers got into potion to shoot him, and they got ready.

You will find that to be a massive mistake. And the part about drilling through won't work, it would shake a bit tho.

Also, the weapons on the side would be useless then.

The Path to Hell pulsed purple and red, absorbing the plasma into the weapons, and the heat into the lava veins. That wouldn't work. A large ship, large enough to carry five-hundred ordinary men flew out, towards the attacking forces. It had heavy shielding, and was thick steel. Small cannons were on the sides, automatic, and it had a larger one in the front. No windows or openings were visible.

Crow smiled as the fortress trembled slightly beneath his feet, then turned back to Compile. "I WAS TOLD BY HELLBENT." He slammed the butt of the whip into the back of her skull, and her eyes rolled up into her head. A trickle of blood came from her mouth as she fell. He turned to the rest. "Now. You will tell me everything you know. One way or another." He slammed the whip into Dawn, over and over again. "There is no options here. You will tell me, or there will be nothing for your pathetic sibling to make an equally pathetic attempt at saving." He cracked the whip into her back.

Bullets pinged off of Dwig's armor as he ran forward. He put the rifle into its magnetic holster, his Shardblade appearing in his other hand as he did so. He drew a revolver, taking a couple potshots at the snipers as he ran forward. He slashed ad stabbed with his Shardblade, Pushing on armor and weapons to disorient the group of Precursors.

KoTiel smiled, and channeled the dor. Running forwards, they tapped zinc. Their mind racing, they analyzed the situation in front of them, calculating trajectories, probabilities, movements. They ducked in between the fire from the Precursors, running towards the man with the shardblade.

Having a twin could be great. It meant having a built in friend and constant companion. It meant having someone who knew you through and through. But it also meant having someone so close to you that their pain was also yours. Watching Dawn get whipped was probably one of the worst things he'd ever experienced. For all her taunting to him about being a minute older, for all her time spent half asleep, for all her crazy schemes that got them in trouble, Dawn was his twin and there was almost nothing he wouldn't do for her. And every time that whip went down, it hurt him probably as much as her.

"Crow!" he called out, cutting off Precious who had been about to say something. Having the brute's attention on him at least might help Dawn, if only for a moment. "None of us know where Prism is. The last time we saw her was a few weeks ago. When she left she gave us no location as to where she was headed."

And even if she had, he thought, she wouldn't even still be there. She never stays in one spot.

This is like that classic moment where she and Freedom should walk in and say "we're right here."

But alas. It can not be so. -_-

And since this isn't anywhere else and it isn't worth sticking in the character thread because the era is almost over-

No, Crow is my character. You need my permission before killing him.

BTW, Crow isn't attacking the two year old or the less then one year old. Don't worry about those two, except that they are being raised by Crow.

The entire room seemed to darken. "You... don't know." His eyes glowed ghostly white and he grabbed Brethren by the neck, pulling him into the air. He punched him in the face, blood and a few teeth flying out of his mouth. He kicked the boy down to the floor. "Go. Get out of my sight." He turned to the rest. They were all battered and bruised. He smiled. "I said everything you know. Where Pri might go, or be." He pulled out a syringe. Injecting it into Unity, he smiled. This is a drug that makes pain worse by a hundredfold. He slammed the whip into the boys back, over and over again. On the fourth lash, he stopped. "Tell me what you know, or else."
