I could give you three different HEMA professionals, and a total of about three to five hours of why reverse grip doesn't work in a sword fight.

To be clear, if you are only trying to defend yourself and run away from the fight, or are not using the sword to fight, then it would work for that.

Anything else it doesn't. And it doesn't do as good a job of that as normal grip does.
