blackflame451 Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 I started with Elantris and just finished the first Mistborn Trilogy. 4
Archer he/him Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Welcome! Watch for spoilers then (there's some stuff with Kelsier that happens in Mistborn: Secret History and elsewhere. You've been warned ). On that note, who's your favourite cosmere character?
AonEne he/him Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Hello! Going off of Mr. Almost at a Thousand Posts, which book was your favorite? 1
+Ark1002 Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 (edited) Read warbreaker or stormlight archive next. If you want o jump into an incredibly complex world, stormlight archive all the way! Otherwise, warbreaker. Would you like a cookie*? *disclaimer Edited August 12, 2018 by Ark1002
Life&Death Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 One cookie is harmless and tasty. The other will rip parts of your soul off, but is also tasty.
+Ark1002 Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Mine tastes better, but is just slightly unhealthy.
Ashspren Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 (edited) Welcome, @blackflame451! A recommendation for your next read– Stormlight Archive all the way. It's incredibly complicated, but personally, I love it. Edited August 12, 2018 by Ashspren
blackflame451 Posted August 19, 2018 Author Posted August 19, 2018 Thanks Ashspren I was thinking that might be my next one. Although I did decide to keep Mistborn on my mind and go ahead through the Wax and Wayne novels first. About halfway through Shadows of Self at the moment. Once I'm done with Bands of Mourning I'm thinking Stormlight Archive is next.
Just a Lifetime he/him Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Welcome to the shard! I always recommend Warbreaker before Stormlight Archive (or at least before Words of Radiance) due to certain crossover characters. How are you liking Wax & Wayne compared to the original Mistborn cast and setting?
blackflame451 Posted August 23, 2018 Author Posted August 23, 2018 Good information daschaich I will keep that in mind. I've only got about a quarter of Band of Mourning to go. I was a little disappointed originally that there were no mistborns but I think that Shadows of Self and especially Bands of Mourning have given enough enticement into the combinations of Feruchemy and Allomancy to quell my annoyance at no mistborn. I would say I still prefer the original trilogy but Wax and Wayne themselves are such a great pair that it really makes these books. Plus I really like Wax and Steris.
