Turns out ChatGPT can actually tell me all about The longest Thread (Misadventures). I basically have ten separate entire essays about different parts of of powers and history. It’s probably all pretty bad and inaccurate but it feels like a solid base. I also have an idea for a plot blade.

But I didn’t want that to be my only knowledge.

I started reading from the beginning but it was long and I didn’t get very far.

so I jumped half way and then was confused and lost again.

should I read the last 10 pages to catch up or just jump in?

Kiornight paused at the sound of a yell. Had that been a person? And where? Gathering back into a largely humanoid shape, he scrutinized the plants around him. An ant nest buried itself near the roots of a tree, insects whirring away busily. Pulling his form tighter together so as not to lose sapience, Kiornight crouched down, listening to the ants.

Intruders ... breaking ... seeking ... killing ...

Kiornight drew back sharply, flashing again momentarily. He hadn't conversed with them long enough to lose a significant number of fireflies, but it would be better to avoid it.

Stepping back, he looked up, squinting through the thick foliage.

Viridis froze as he caught the humanoid swarm looking straight at him, desperately hoping that his cloak would provide sufficient camouflage. He slowed his metabolism as much as he dared.

Just jump it, what you do can have absolutely nothing to do with anything else here if you wish.

"So then, let's get going!" The innkeeper opens the ship and shows them to the controls.

eli took the controls and took off. "Trevor calculate where the ship would have-"

"already on it  cap'in!" He grabbed the nav system and started mumbling some math.

Ok. But I feel like I need a good name, reading some of the earlier stuff, people did funny names like puns and stuff.

Something seemed to bolt out a little of the sun in the canopy. Kiornight hissed softly. He didn't have much time, but if there was another person...

He pulled together, clicking wings calling out in an imitation of a voice. "Who's there?"

Viridis eased his metabolism back to normal levels, in case he had to flee, but remained silent.

Kiornight hesitated. There was a potential threat, but not one that wanted to reveal itself. That could mean they felt he was a threat, or it could mean they were trying to conceal how great a threat they were. They wouldn't be weak, surviving here so long. And willing to climb a bizarre plant at a moment's notice.

He decided not to push the conversation, instead scattering deeper into the forest. "Strange," he muttered as he departed.

Viridis waited until the swarm was no longer visible before climbing down to ground level. His eyes scanned the canopy above him, and he spotted a bright red fruit sticking out amongst the foliage. He leaped up and grabbed it before devouring it quickly.

He thought about the being he had seen; he hadn't heard of anything like it. Whatever it was, it was definitely far more than a mere swarm of mindless fireflies.

He wondered if Kiornight knew of the pool, at the centre of the island. If he did, Viridis couldn't let him reach it first. Plucking another fruit and taking a bite, he accelerated his metabolism just slightly, and sprinted inland.

There's a pool of glowing green liquid (like a perpendicularity) a few kilometres inland
