Rebus thought that was fine - Heir was at camp and hence could use fewer conversations to do.

Rebus opened a portal into a crowded square in a utopian metropolis. 

“Good, on both counts. It wouldn’t do for me to destroy my own plotline without the risk of you losing yours. You may suggest which side of those stakes shall be balanced.” 

“There are plenty of things I want citizens for. The particular use you shall be of has not fully been determined.” 

Rebus smiled at the slug. “If you want training, I can arrange it.” 

Rebus felt he should remind Bacon that he had antiteleportation fields covering the area. Invisibility, though, would work briefly, as would disintegrating a copy. (He could also see in all directions through his utility fog, so distractions would not work so well.) I hope you understand I can acquire the page elsewhere. I do not want to have to acquire it from outside the Thread, but I will. And that copy comes with a translation…

Yup. I shall think more, though having it be created organically would be match the powers. 
Rebus did notice, but he wasn’t sure which emotion it was supposed to be. It worked better on crowds, anyway - as far as he was aware.

Rebus sent a spear of utility fog at Aeon, testing her defenses. It was still lit up and moving slowly from him to his target - as the metaphorical gloves came off, that would change. 
It is broken, yes. But firstly, this is already a Narrator, and secondly, the power (if it is working normally) works pretty much exclusively on interactions between people - either crowds or already existing interactions, which will often effect the user.

Oh no. This seems... very bad. Lezterp said while strengthening both his physical grip and mental grip on Cursed Treasure. He then eats a lot of pretzels. I will keep you away from that monster, don't worry.

No, but I have one of his sentient plotblades, Cursed Treasure that helped me make the labyrinth. I wouldn't recommend touching the pile of treasure.
