Cricket hesitated, but the Blade swung again, narrowly missing Atreides' head. Atreides screamed in anger, shouting for mercy, and somewhere in Cricket, something broke. He called for mercy. He pleaded. He couldn't kill him, could he . . . He could. He raised the Blade, trying to dismiss his hesitation. Atreides stretched out his remaining hand, screaming desperately and Crusade flew into it. He parried the stroke as the Blade glowed golden, contrasting sharply with the darkness of Savior Complex. Cricket put all his weight against the sword, drawing up sparks from Crusade. The two Blades began to glow, brighter and brighter, until an explosion erupted from the Blades, engulfing the room. Atreides and Cricket were hurled to opposite sides slammed against the wall, and the Enulling field broke. And not just after it, either; I believe I’m the closest anyone has ever gotten.” @xinoehp512, since I was ninja’d. Rebus frowned, shivering and alone in the snow. I suppose, though I’m not sure the figure has hit anyone yet… The whole battlefield is only corporal when necessary; I guess Bacon missed the context about the combat test. Then Cricket rushed forward, Savior Complex roaring in his head. Save lives! Save lives! The Blade began to glow, sucking the light from the room. Cricket yelled, and rammed the Blade at Atreides, pinning his shoulder. Atreides screamed in pain, as Savior Complex grew louder, enveloping Cricket's mind. SAVE LIVES! SAVE LIVES! SAVE LIVES! Cricket twisted the Blade, ripping it out of his shoulder, and slashed at the Narrator, who feebly blocked it. SAVE LIVES! SAVE LIVES! SAVE LIVES! Soon everyone in the room could hear the Blade, draining all other sound. Atreides desperately tried to escape, but Cricket mercilessly advanced, knocking Crusade out of his grip. The Blade leapt forward, propelled by its own force, slicing off Atreides' hand, spilling blood everywhere. Atreides screamed in pain. "Please! Mercy!" Cricket hesitated, but the Blade swung again, narrowly missing Atreides' head. Atreides screamed in anger, shouting for mercy, and somewhere in Cricket, something broke. He called for mercy. He pleaded. He couldn't kill him, could he . . . He could. He raised the Blade, trying to dismiss his hesitation. Atreides stretched out his remaining hand, screaming desperately and Crusade flew into it. He parried the stroke as the Blade glowed golden, contrasting sharply with the darkness of Savior Complex. Cricket put all his weight against the sword, drawing up sparks from Crusade. The two Blades began to glow, brighter and brighter, until an explosion erupted from the Blades, engulfing the room. Atreides and Cricket were hurled to opposite sides slammed against the wall, and the Enulling field broke. OH NO. “Did you really think that you could beat me on my own turf?” Rebus sighed. “With my Plotblade broken, you might have even been able to beat me if you’d chosen a different battlefield.” He hit an invisible wall as he tried to get closer to Atredies. A crossbow bolt very slowly hit the time bubble, and it popped with an explosive bang. More footsteps in the distance sounded, loud at first but getting quieter.
