that was Atreides

Stone sighed. "Look, who are you, exactly? Who's your Author?"

I know :3

They let go of Stone's arm.

"I . . . I do not know. I have no name . . . I have no purpose . . . why- why am I here? Where is here? What is this . . . ?"

"Please . . . get me out of here . . ."

"Uh, okay." Stone nodded, unsure. "Yeah . . . about that . . ." he sighed, calling for an Author. He didn't care who, he just needed intervention.

Unbeknownst to the combatants, Zoomslug peaks out from a a nearby crevice.

Bacon extended his cool rock song to buff Zoomslug as well.

“This world is infinite, so we could claim territory and never run out. Hence, it’s no loss to pool resources.”
That made sense, but was still a problem. Hopefully it took a strike in order to truly plunge someone into a false reality.

Yes. And you have natural power, unlike my previous wielder.

The figure slowed to a slow, inevitable walk, shooting crossbow bolts at the three.

“Yes.” Rebus said. “I constructed a role for myself - several - because of it.”
Rebus smirked at him, catching the knife, and allowed the shrapnel to strike true (though he made sure there was no backwards connection to the rest of him). Most of it bounced off his armor, while some caused wounds that quickly knit shut. “You can’t beat me, Bat. I’m better than you at nearly everything.”

Rebel was asking Atredies whether they should go after Rebus or the Plotblade, last time I checked.
Actually, they might be there.

Bacon attempted to convince the crossbow bolts to fight for him instead.

Bacon impressed the crossbow bolts aimed at him so much that they all spontaneously decided to switch sides. They rushed the mysterious assailant, screaming war cries in Boltish.

Well . . . because of Rebus.

Why not?

"Hello," said a voice in his ear.

Zoomslug was adorable.

Bacon thought they were both adorable.

Of course. We can leave Pretzel Planet. Lezterp says mentally while teleporting to another planet

you decide where we end up

has to somewhere with pretzels though

Lezterp appeared in a kitchen next to a very confused man, who was putting a tray of pretzels into the oven.

This is not just a problem for Rebel - I can't think of a good way to beat Rebus, since I play him and therefore he thought of all the things I did.

Rebus, who was watching the test from outside, raised an eyebrow. He'd never heard of Zoomslug, much less allowed the presumed tanix in, but that wasn't especially an issue. Perhaps there had been a few important things on the planet he'd destroyed after all.

Bacon gave Zoomslug an official team badge, in case Rebus got any ideas.

That was considerate of him, though unfortunately it meant Zoomslug was part of the test and hence to be shot at by the figure with the crossbow.

This man gave up baking later that night, having discovered he could make a lot of money refusing to tell his story again until he was sufficiently compensated. After that experience, he was glad he could.

Excellent. Let's find somewhere out of the way - a forest or mountain, perhaps - to begin.

No

BWAHAHAH WHATTT

dot growled teleported next to them in the air. "Stop that!"
