"Are you here for emotional support?" Rebus asked, somewhat venomously.

Rebus had had poor experiences with rabbits in the past. He skewered them with telescoping spears of utility fog, to nip a possible problem in the bud.

I can use it to power the things I can already do at a faster rate.

Symbol sighed, looking down at her feet. "Do you ever feel... meaningless?"

Bat growled. But that utility fog... he sprayed more shrapnel at Rebus, keeping up the pressure to push himself across the room and up near the ceiling. Once there, he grabbed the handle on the wall and flung one last knife at Rebus, while simultaneously pulling the shrapnel that had landed or gotten behind Rebus.

Stone hovered in the void. It was known as the Place of Indecision, where characters went when Authors were busy, and it was really quite cramped.

"Hello?" he whispered, jostling past Malevolence and some other poor souls, hoping somebody would hear him.

“Domination. The usual. Yadda yadda  yadda.”

Well, the Notblades weren’t actually real, and were rather excited from Bat’s emotional rollercoaster, so they broke some of the laws of nature. Pain is better at that, but I think they’ve been discussing it together enough for Illusion to pick up a thing.

“This world is infinite, so we could claim territory and never run out. Hence, it’s no loss to pool resources.”
That made sense, but was still a problem. Hopefully it took a strike in order to truly plunge someone into a false reality.

The figure slowed to a slow, inevitable walk, shooting crossbow bolts at the three.

“Yes.” Rebus said. “I constructed a role for myself - several - because of it.”
Rebus smirked at him, catching the knife, and allowed the shrapnel to strike true (though he made sure there was no backwards connection to the rest of him). Most of it bounced off his armor, while some caused wounds that quickly knit shut. “You can’t beat me, Bat. I’m better than you at nearly everything.”

Rebel was asking Atredies whether they should go after Rebus or the Plotblade, last time I checked.
Actually, they might be there.

It did, most definitely.

“That is a quite rational desire. If Nurgal wants the whole world, we shall come in to conflict, but an infinite half is perfectly fine.”
