Hi everyone! I'm back - ping me if there's something I haven't responded to.

Even if it was only part of the truth.

*sigh*

Antagonist, remember? He's got all my cleverness, no morals (that's not true, actually - but his morals aren't very nice), and is trying to be as evil as possible to save the world so he can save himself. If you don't want him attacking you I can stop, though - manipulating characters and manipulating actual people are very different things.

She didn’t refute him, instead starting further up the mountain.

“I forgot— what is it we’re looking for again?”

"We got lost in your dungeons - now we're lost outside them. Better, especially if we don't really care where we go."

See below.

The ten cut themselves to pieces. Fael snarled, leaping at Rebel, swords drawn.

Atreides sighed. "If you wish."

"That's good." Cricket replied, still breathing heavily. "Do you trust Rebus?" he said suddenly.

Rebel swept his hand, and the tower he had been building toppled onto and in front of Fael. Then he vanished.

Rebus, or my Plotblade?

Rebus increased Cricket's judgement score in his database, but said nothing.

On 6/2/2025 at 9:41 AM, CoderDrag0n8 said:

Yes, I do. I was also wondering I could study you? There are quite... strange things that 'plotblades' can do.

You can. Just don't hurt me - or give me to Rebus. He will certainly hurt me, and maybe you. You should really do background checks before you agree to work for somebody.

On 6/2/2025 at 4:02 PM, Through The Living Glass said:

She sighed.

Okay, first of all, I don't define her by you. She cares about you, and was only waiting for your return because she didn't want to leave you. She's still her own person. Secondly, she's not dead, I've just taken her out of the Thread for a moment. I could bring her back at any moment and it would be like nothing had happened. Thirdly-

She sighed again and glared at Rebus.

Thirdly, the entire reason I pulled her out wasn't because of you, or myself, or because she was waiting for you. I pulled her out because of Rebus. You know how he is.

He wasn't wrong about the last part though.

Rebus smiled at her. "I'm trying to save the world, and both of them. If I wasn't around they'd both have fallen into inactivity - I've saved their lives, and then you killed Tam anyway. Sure, you can bring her back, but that doesn't change the fact you killed her."

He turned to Bat. "Can't you hear how callous they are? I know you can read the posts. See how little they care, simply turning to Stone - the man who tried to kill Cricket - when you're not interesting enough, not timely enough."

GUYSGUYSGUYSGUYSGUYS WILL YALL ACCEPT ME BACK?

Somewhere, somewhen, a portal opened.

It emitted a sickly green light, and a general feeling of nausea.

Immediately, groups of figures - bleeding, wrapped in bandages, and mumbling - crawled out onto the ground, a few retching. The others had their bandages wrapped tightly around their mouths.

Next, a group of four, similarly bandaged, walked from the portal, straight-backed and proud. They stood at attention as a new, not bandaged, figure stepped from the  portal.

Plague Master Ctholis.

Can you tell me more about this Rebus guy?

He cares pretty much exclusively about himself, he's a master manipulator, and he's a metaphysicist and Narrator with access to incredibly advanced technology. He wanted Rebel gone because they're from the same Author, and probably wanted me because he considers me an expendable Plotblade or a deadly "gift".

Mmm. Okay. So... then maybe I shouldn't give him the very powerful and it turns out to be sentient weapon? Yeah... probably not...

Not like I really care about the Pretzels anyway. I'm just hoping to ascend to full agent.

I'm not that powerful - I can do a lot of things, but few of them are worth it. You're strange, though. You don't seem to care about my power, or pretzels, or that decoy. What is an agent, that it's more important than power to you?

You may not know him, but The Great Corrupter is an immensely powerful being that saved all the materializers from a great calamity. He then made many of them Pseudo-Agents. Pseudo-Agents only have one goal. Get the recognition of The Great Corrupter and become a full agent. Pseudo-Agents have abilities and buffs designed to help them become Agents. For instance, a recognition and resistance against mental influences. I... have always been one of the more eccentric materializers. I have always cared about science and how the power works, while more powerful materializers like Emit or Dog just sign contracts of interference and become outsiders to the situation. There has always been a divide between more powerful materializers and less powerful materializers. The one exception is Eikooc. Eikooc has become so powerful from The Great Corrupter, that he can rival even Dog. Eikooc is the one all of us lesser materializers look up to. Even though the more powerful materializers hold no resentment towards us, all of the lesser materializers look to Eikooc for proof that anyone can surpass gods.

Especially God. God and Dog have a fierce rivalry. Its a whole thing.

So, me and God have been working together to become full agents, and be free of the Pseudo layer. Then, we can finally stand up to the more powerful materializers and become in the ranks of history. With the greats like Enocs, Eikooc, and even... even Sisirc Laitnetsixe!

Ben turned his head and looked at bacon, he couldn't see atlas bc she was hiding behind bacon. Ben walked to the cage and grabbed the bars, bending them. But in doing so it got rid of the enulling and giving bacon and atlas their Narration back.

"Nice technique," said Bacon, Narrating a tinfoil hat onto Ben and turning dot into a pumpkin.

The Great Corrupter... what does he corrupt? He may like me...

Existential crisis? Oh dear.

just frustrating sometimes 😏

Not killing, she replied. Killing implies permanent absence. Would you say your Author kills you during long periods of inactivity? You're still here, are you not? You came back.

Yeah

His backstory is crazy

Well, corrupt is a very broad term. No one really knows who this 'Great Corrupter' is, or why he is called that. Some have theorized that he is the First Materializer, and holds incredible power, but I recently gained information about the fundamentals of this world and have a different theory.

Hi! :D

More homework.  School's ending soon, though, and I'll definitely have no more assignments other than optional math stuff.

He wouldn't be a very good villain if he wasn't, but I get what you mean. I really should bring back some of my nicer characters...

"Yes, in fact, I would. Being forgotten is death." He smiled. "If I were to destroy Bat with antimatter explosives, I would have killed him, even if you can Narrate him back, correct?"

I know that better than most. The Plotblade had a (correct) guess as to what Lezterp was referring to, but waiting for him to elaborate.

Yeah... no possible problems here!

Rebus stepped from some convenient shadows, wearing his futuristic armor. "I am Rebus. You have picked a poor world to expand to, I would say. I personally have nothing against you as long as you don't compete with me, but the world at large?"

I think The Great Corrupter is an Author who became the First Materializer of Corruption. Or, more rather, The First Materializer of Corruption became an Avatar.

Ah. Yes, that would work. It does raise the question of what a full Agent does.

Alright, I'm going to sleep.

Of course I would. But like I said, death- TRUE death, implies permanence. Otherwise . . .

“plot :3”? Do you have something you want to run?
“Did I say true death? Killed and permanently killed would be the language I’d use.” Rebus waved dismissively. “But that is irrelevant. You’ve spent too long stalling, and I would be foolish if I continued it myself.”
