Impossible as it may seem, there were more terrifying things in Bacon's digestive system than glitter.

That was the point, in fact. The zombies kept coming, occasionally reaching him - they were strong, and would hold on and try to drag him to the ground - until he either ran out of energy or used a new trick.

He didn't really have anything else to do, so he just kept cutting them down until he was too slow to do so.

Rebus didn’t care about the withergeists - Symbol and Sequence certainly had them handled. He moved forwards - breaking the sound barrier - and struck the man with the Chaotic Order torch. This is supposed to amplify the withergeist bond and corrupt the guy into a normal withergeist after a moment. He hasn’t tested it, though - generally the material amplifies the result of interactions between magic or people, causes emergent phenomena (abiogenesis, cancer, rainbows, problems), and facilitates combinations between things, including its own creation.

Beosta blinked. She shot a zombie wirh her crossblade before realizing that probably wouldn’t work. She stole some strength from Livetha, who was still draped around her neck, and started bashing zombies with her fists. 

Snow nodded. “I think so.”

”I expected as much,” was all Mr. Whitlock said upon receiving the news. He readjusted his spectacles and examined the notes. “And you want me to… would you explain this reaction once more?” Somebody didn’t quite understand how the reaction worked and, in fact, had basically forgotten how it was made. 

Mmm, yes, very funny. 

She considered this. I’ll likely kill you in the end, were such an agreement to be reached.

Symbol thrust out her palm and sent a glimmering beam of light at a withergeist. 

“Fun,” she said, but she had the strange and inexplicable urge to leave everyone in the party behind and go down into the basement dungeons for a stroll. 

So it was time, then. 

She bid a shaky farewell to Bacon, then started for the stairs. Every other version of her burst into crystalline flakes.
