"Huh. Ok then," Cep says, turning to look at the woman, who is still standing where she was. "Ah reckon she probably thinks me more crazy now, but ah suppose we may as well see what information we can get outta her. We already got mah name and that she's mah wife, so we're off to a good start."

He starts walking toward her, then pauses and turns back to her. "Er- probably best if yeh talk ta her. Ah reckon she thinks yeh a little less crazy than me, on account of yeh still havin' yer memories an' such, as far as she knows."

Oh, uh, sure.

She smiled.

Thanks.

He seemed to be trying to give her the shell.

Spren rose to hover just above her shoulder.

She paused. "Is... that for me?"

Bacon applauded. "An excellent eulogy. I'm sure he'd be happy to know you're under capable protection."

The Render pivoted back and forth, looking at the speaker with its vague face. “I would be best served by light and sharp. Obsidian, I hear, is very good at cutting.”

Sounds good to me, though I’m unsure how often I will have cause to use it.
Rebus, wearing sleek armor (greyscale color blocks, with purple tron lines) walked up to Sequence. He was smiling, but not nicely.

“Yup. I’ll be fine, but I need to spin to talk, and the machine needs winding up to spin.”
That was good for Rebus - actually, he thought that he’d tangentially mentioned it already. He brought up a hologram and began typing, though he didn’t have to.
Rebus caught one, and stood motionless looking at it for quite some time.
Rebus was happy about that - he’d set up the test momentarily.
I, subsequently, would do my very best to destroy you. If she’s gone for good, I’m not even sure what lengths I would go to.

Wow! That’s really good - I should practice my own drawing. You don’t have to, but I could use a non-AI image of Rebus.

“Well, you become more of a squirrel than I would, I expect.”

Bacon waved his hand. "But we're talking about you. Your curiosity. Your innate desire to discover the nature of the form of the squirrel. I could turn you into one right now, you know! Aren't you at least a little curious?"

Rebus walked forwards. “You are meddling in forces few understand, and fewer should be messing with. Unfortunately for you, so have I.” He put out his hand, and with a bang of displaced air summoned a torch - patches of light and darkness dancing across the “flame”.

Yessss? Rebus thought sweetly.

The withergeists hissed and flew away from Rebus into the crowds.

Outside.

A cupcake hit her in the head, throw by a penguin.

Shoe found that . . . really, really creepy.

Um . . . hey. So . . . upgrades? Fighting?

Bacon wandered outside, looking for Shoe and Beosta.

5 hours ago, Sequence said:

Sequence gasped, stumbling backwards for a moment before hastily regaining her footing and summoning Conflict, who took the form of a long, crooked, wooden staff with a brilliantly shining orb entangled in the roots at the top.
"Oh, come on! These parties are supposed to be peaceful!"

"You seem awfully calm about it!"

"Oh, hi Rebus! I like your armor, by the way." Sequence smiled sweetly.
"But um, perhaps we could talk after these... creatures are dealt with?"

Bacon shrugged. "Honestly, I'm surprised we got fifty whole pages in without anyone trying to disrupt the party."

Nope :P

Still Heir Rebus :P

Um . . . apart? Okay . . .

You okay with that? he asked Beosta. @Bird Furious

The storming shard ate my entire post this morning!
Rebus teleported Beosta, Shoe, and presumably Cricket ( @TwinStorm) into vaguely liminal arenas - blurry walls seeming to slowly fade from existence - and gave them and Beosta this speech. “This room is made of nanomachines, and can’t really hurt you. Your test is to avoid dying as long as possible, though some phases will have other lose conditions. Begin.” Rebus was engulfed by the grey ground, and disappeared. Figures began forming from the ground, moving slowly closer.

Hopefully. A fellow Author would like to interject that there was no shame in low-effort summaries, as a long time succumber to such tactics.

ALMOST. IT WAS ALMOST LIKE THAT. VERY CLOSE TO MAYBE BEING LIKE THAT>
*sobbing*

You got smth to say, lil Rebus man? ^_-

I won't be forgotten, she assured him. Plotline or no. I may slumber, but I am not so insecure as to let that scare me.

I think it'll bee fun. We'll see if it happens. And don't judge me if it's awful cuz your expectations are prolly wayyyy too high. Cuz I don't draw well generally. But thanks :D

“I don’t know. Do you have one?”
Rebus’s first project for him was a method for efficiently maintaining and growing the Chaotic Order reaction, with early prototypes looking like engine designs. He also gave Mr. Whitlock his notes on Nullite nanotech (supposedly magnets didn’t work right on them, which was why Heir thought the Eternal Mountain’s tech level was so weird) and Prismite isolation (he used this opportunity to tactfully state he was a Narrator).
*comforting pat* Rose is above, by the way.
Merely frustrated at being ignored - ironically in favor of myself.
You haven’t felt real time, have you? That feeling may very well change your mind. But I am offering a willing test subject - me - if you let me be with Symbol.

My baseline is what I can do, so there is truly no pressure. :D (I do not draw often, so I am not skilled)

“I’m not sure you could.”
Rebus didn’t care about the withergeists - Symbol and Sequence certainly had them handled. He moved forwards - breaking the sound barrier - and struck the man with the Chaotic Order torch.
This is supposed to amplify the withergeist bond and corrupt the guy into a normal withergeist after a moment. He hasn’t tested it, though - generally the material amplifies the result of interactions between magic or people, causes emergent phenomena (abiogenesis, cancer, rainbows, problems), and facilitates combinations between things, including its own creation.

Combat test - what were you expecting? You will be fine, though if you ‘lose’ limbs or eyes the simulator can make you unable to touch or see anything with that body part.
The figures seemed zombie-like, shambling towards him in a group. There were a lot of them, though.

They were fairly easy to cut through (though there was certainly some resistance), and dissolved back into the ground after a few moments. But there were more, coming up behind him, shambling towards him, appearing in the distance.

Several nearby things, including the small volcano, turned into squirrels. “See? It didn’t work.”
Rebus was rather annoyed, though it seemed maybe that man was a Fallen and not a simple foolish withergeist bonder. He rounded on the closest withergeist, surrounding it with a translucent prison. In the center of the bars lay a portal to a star, though the heat and pressure was blocked by force fields, and the light was blocked by the bars - should they be damaged, the light would increase until the withergeist stopped trying or was incinerated.
