You don't have to send particles with information. You can use normal signals with light. :)

We don't have previous evidence that implies Nullite fields block light.

It just seems cleaner, is all.

Here's the post after I edited it^

(Nullite fields in the post? Which post? Also, confuzzlization.)
I think of it as the function being ingrained in the structure of the particle.

As in literal engraving? Or do you mean by sending data through molecule chains?

Alright :P

You said he shrunk himself so I assumed he was pretty tiny :P

Since that was apparently not an option, he created a small cave for him to hide in.

I meant shrank with body language, not literally became smaller. :P

Taeidin rushed into the cave and slumped against the wall.

"Thank you so much!"

Dangit this has happened beforeeeeee 😭

@Bird Furious remember when Aden disappeared into the book? 😭😂

Utility nodded and stood in front of the cave.

"Would you mind telling me what you're hiding from?"

"It's the orbs. There was one of them up there."

Taeidin spoke with a quivering voice.

Ye, I saw. That can be useful, but it doesn’t serve the current specific purpose as well.

It changes the crystalline structure of the dust.

Mmhmm

Depends - thinking of Nullite like matter, (and it’s cancellation like heat, or some other energy) it’s area of effect is not directly proportional to mass - rather, it increase faster with more mass - so a star’s size of Nullite would cancel an entire solar system, even though that is proportionally much more than the usual influence - so the smaller size would have unusually small influences.

Also, I came, I saw, I edited.

Hmm. Actually, if the particles around the Nullite were packed close enough and being held up by other ones, and if they're super super tiny, that would actually work. Rebus could probably help with sizing them down using nanobots and such.

...I guess then the problem would be that it wouldn't actually help with resisting Narration because the fields would be so small...

Yeah I think I talked about that somewhere else.

Yes.

mb lol

"Probably??"

"Yeah... I've never been here," he admitted.

"What orbs? What do they do?"

Taeidin hesitated a moment before replying.

"I don't know what they do. They just float around up there, being general menaces. They come and go at the most random of times."

You did phrase it well. Muin just has many many plans. Also, you could have negotiated it so that you wouldn't have to give him an extra favor, but... Too late!

"Wonderful. Before I agree, can I hear the contract one last time?"

Muin is very sus of everything.

@Dragonheir did you see this?

Ah yeah okay. That's fine then.

She stared at him, then shook her head and sat on the white, blank floor.

"Nothing, sorry. I'd- I just thought you'd been here before."

She shrugged. "It's fine. Sorry."

Yeah, it was 😏

It could work, if you pack em together in a 2d way.

It would be a question of optimization. (And the shape of the intermediary particles.)

Just because the signals aren’t really entering the storage except for when it is directly updated, and exiting signals would also need accompanying particles.

Ye - otherwise, it would introduce vulnerabilities that would need to be fixed with my Notblades or direct Narration.

And I dislike using those.

Well then, glad that's all sorted out :D

Utility offered once again to take Adari to som eNullite

wowo that's a typo I'm not fixing

That sounds pretty unstable...

Why is it unstable, tombs? (OH MY AUTOCORRECT)

I can except a minumum cross-sectional area or like, radius, tho.

In my head it works like protein chain makers- I forgot what they're called.

She nodded and waited to be released from where they were.

Wouldn't there still be particles holding the Nullite and other particles in place? Those would be vulnerable, probably only to certain Narrative commands, but say a Narrator was like "vanish". Then those would vanish and he'd basically fall apart, or the Nullite would fall out, or whatever.

It just seems like it wouldn't be super practical, is all. That's just my two cents, though.
