Don't act like a Narrator. Don't... yeah. Try not to lie... don't get nervous, uh... give yourself some tattoos... but bad ones, okay? Maybe rough yourself up a bit. I'll say I found you in the caves..........

. . . Okay.

She made her appearance just that.

Don't act like a Narrator . . . uh- somehow. She was sure she'd figure it out.

Why are we here, anyway? she finally asked. Also, will I need a gas mask here . . . ?

He shook his head. No. It's gonna be fine. It's sterile.

AW WAIT THAT's SO CUTE-

She pressed her lips together hard. "We shall see."

Rebus maintained his dignity, though he gave a small smile.

Both parts are quite simple, it's just doing them in the right order and the right things. (and I may have translated it incorrectly, who knows!)

it does have some structure, and what you're hitting upon is why I decided to make it an alloy, rather than just pure Dark. It is quite difficult to be in only one Axis at once.

I think I'll figure it out, but if you have ideas, you're welcome to tell them.

kind of. He's a little different from the metals, but in theory, it should be possible.

were those the ruler of the Luxsprites that are the Witherlord's generals now?

honestly, I'd be more worried about if they exist at all. Platypus is sometimes a Being of Ordered Light, but a) you would have to extract his core which he would not be happy about and b) just being a Ordered Light doesn't necessarily make him a Luxsprite. I think Xino and I came to the conclusion that he's mostly just a Being, not necessarily one of the four ones that we have names for.

He would get used to it, in time. At that time it had been hundreds of years, and Platypus was barely making progress. But at least some progress had been made. Even more, now.

Rebus gave a belated wave with a raised eyebrow. “We will meet again, I suspect. I am not certain yet whether it will be as allies, rivals, or bitter enemies.”
Alright… I’ll try some more later today.
I think Order and Chaos can stand on their own, because a net neutral in terms of creation and destruction makes far more sense than somehow neither Order nor Chaos.
If I have some, I shall.
I think that was Nameless’s plan to defeat him, at some point. Not sure if it worked.
No, the Skeins were some sort of sapient field of Ordered Light - they were the ones who sealed the Witherlord away, though I think they were destroyed in the process.
Yeah, that’s a bad idea. (Rebus did consider doing so at one point, but realized how stupid trying to harvest Platypus’s organs is).
Rebus had two things Platypus didn’t, though: the work of others, and metagaming.

Recovering his composure, Taeinid speaks. "The orbs are gone now, it's nothing to worry about. Now, where was I..."

"Oh, yes. What are you doing here?"

Rebus will be very interested in that…

“Good. I quite honestly may agree with you, depending upon what you do wish.”
“I’ve been trying to combine the metals myself, though I am aiming for a neutral balance between Order and Chaos.”
“That could be a worthy goal. The issue with gaining vengeance for all is that people often wish vengeance for others’ acts of vengeance.”

Alright, then - perhaps we’ll witness that at some point.
Alright - the apostrophes are throwing me off.
The tricky part is imagining something neither structured nor unstructured. Things have to have some arrangement, whether it be effectively random or very regular.
Alright. I’d be willing to help with that brainstorming, though as we’ve found I seem to have a poorer grasp of the lore than I thought.
To unbalance him by introducing more Ordered Darkness (or Chaotic Darkness, but that’s risky).
Huh (to both). The Skeins were Witherlordish for Ordered Light, right? Or at least had more power than a Luxsprite.
The balancium one - I think he did use it in the duel, though I’m not sure it worked. Rebus found and reactivated the one that turns you into Nameless, but he was… unhelpful (he stole and absorbed a bunch of Prismite, then ran away).

That’s what I said, too. I think Platypus is the last.
Rebus chuckled inwardly. He’d been in that situation before - honestly, he still was.

“Muin, as I said, if I can have your help I can get you the first two cores. Is that satisfactory?”

“Time cannot be wasted if your goal is to continue doing things. I may not be able to protect Symbol from whatever you plan to do, but I will help her become all the stronger because of it.”

"What exactly does that entail? Could you give me the exact wording and description of the agreement?" Muin says in return.

Muin doesn't know that the agreements are magic, he just really like sto keep his word. He is also very suspicous.

"Hmph." She vanished with a puff of confetti.

Symbol yawned from her magic floating disc where she sat cross-legged in the air. She pointed at the walls, which sprouted beautiful medieval braziers. She'd set those ablaze when the party began. She added polished wood tables along the walls and piled them with all sorts of meats, eggs, salads, cheeses, drinks, and desserts, each with a glowing light platter over them, fixed with a lock shaped like a clock so they wouldn't age before the party began.

"Music," she muttered. The disc drifted upward to the balcony above the Great Hall. People, instruments? More chimes, definitely. Symbol liked chimes. They reminded her of...

Of...

Reminded her? She frowned. Right. La-

She jumped after a jolt from her disc. What had she been thinking about? Chimes, yes. Chimes.

She Narrated magical chimes fixed at different lengths. Tiny hammers sat next to them on the balconies, ready to play melodies once the party began. She then Narrated an orchestra of unmanned instruments, but frowned. That felt a little too boring. Each one burst apart into a thousand tiny ones until the air above the balconies were full of tiny flutes, violins, cellos, violas, clarinets, oboes, and pianos. She began a test melody.

The sound was hardly audible as more than a shrill, high whine. She huffed, then blew the instruments back up to size one by one, creating a pocket for each one that hugged the contours of its frame and allowed the sound to be magnified back to original volume once shrunk. She also made them appear to be made completely out of silvery metal.

"Now," she murmured. "Für Elise."

She closed her eyes as the melody began to play. It sounded perfect this time, a slow, soft arrangement with soft chimes in the background.

And yet it was accompanied by a distinct, deep pain.

"You there! Which direction is Meitner?"

Afterimage quickly searched nearby locations for any written coordinates, directions, or explicit location of Meitner, then relayed his findings to Taeinid.

"How are we all feeling today, a green or a yellow?"

Lady Bug growled and bonked the offending Author over the head quite painfully with a slab of wood punched full of nails. It would be very painful if the Author were there, but as it was, she probably looked rather silly.
