When he dropped the portal, there was a very surprised, very elderly lady staring at him with wide eyes.

Unsure what to do, she turned and walked away without a word.

He turned away, extremely disturbed. Maybe the next aisle . . . ?

He went down the next aisle, looking for people.

There was one person.

He was wearing old, ratty clothing and was trying to inconspicuously stuff some shelved medicine into his pocket.

He sighed in an amused way.

"Alright. Who's first?"

“Follow me,” she said walking up to a house.

The man jumped, having not seen him until just then.

He eyed Stone warily.

She lit up, looking animated as she spoke. “Well… yeah! It’s fun to scare people! Or… robot people… But anyways! Weren’t you scared?”

“I was startled, yes, though not fearful. The qualifier of robot is unnecessary, especially considering I am technically an automaton.”

"N-no."

"Who are you, then?"

He shrugged, looking nervous, and walked away.

Stone considered following him, but turned away. He really hoped the Authors would send someone to help him, soon.

"Why aren't you going after him?" Utility asked.

"He seems weird!" Stone protested. "You know what, fine." he said, following the man. "Hey! Hey!"

Oh man 😂

The man panicked and ran out of the store.

"Is this really the guy?" he asked Utility, exasperated, but following him anyway.

Utility shrugged and followed, turning invisible.

The man dodged through the crowd to escape and dashed down another busy street.

Up ahead, the man turned down another, smaller street.

He followed him, blending into the shadows at the sides of the buildings.
