What are we supposed to do? I thought you wanted some innovative Narrators. But sure. If it makes you feel better, I guess I mutated on purpose. Congrats. Your monopoly is preserved. I was not the original inventor of the lore. Nor do I control it. I merely safeguard the lore from fools like you. Discovering new creatures and forms of fundamental magic is a highly dangerous process, one that should not be done by the inexperienced. I guess that might work." he said. "Moni? You have more experience than the rest of us." Moni frowned. "Palsu, why couldn't we all use your device?" "It only works on one person at a time." Palsu replied. "Please, you've all done so much for me. I can do this. I'll run out, draw away their attention, then you can get them away from here with your powers. I'll use my device to get away, then meet back up with you later. You're going to meet up with the resistance, right? I can probably find my way to them." On 2/25/2025 at 5:18 PM, TwinStorm said: The hunters stood silent for a moment. Then one strode forward. "I pledge my service." "I accept your pledge." The floor beneath the body rippled, drawing the corpse into the ground and replacing it with a raised platform. "That teleporter will take you as near to the city as it safely can. Any who wish to serve me may step onto it." He spread his arms wide, raising his voice dramatically. "Deliver unto them my ultimatum: relinquish unto me the sacred artifacts of the kingdom or be devoured in the night." 11 hours ago, Sequence said: Sequence's expression lit up. "Didn't you say Malevolence was too dangerous to approach?" She looked excited, already arranging the bags of tea in her basket. "Should I write them a letter now, or should we try to find them first? Sorry, I very much fancy the idea of meeting somebody truly terrifying, especially after how pleasant Ruia and the Ghost turned out to be." Sequence smiled. "Not that I'm complaining, of course," she added. "I suppose we could visit him." Unintelligible said. "From what I hear, he is unpredictable. And utterly evil. Perhaps we could-" Malevolence appeared in a crackle of lightning. "I hope I'm not too early." He said levelly. Unintelligible pulled a revolver on the villain, which Malevolence ignored. A chair appeared behind him with a few sparks and he sat down in it slowly, wincing slightly as he bent his knees, which were still in hi-tech casts. "You're Sequence, yes? I have heard much of you."
