Sequence thought for a moment, nodding as the Ghost spoke. "That seems... Innocent enough. Unintelligible, why exactly do you think the Ghost and its Machination are so evil again?" Sequence asked, turning to face him. @NameIess 2 hours ago, NameIess said: Unintelligible glared at the Ghost. “They mechanize their members forcibly, then become their sole supply of the energy source required to keep them alive.” 2 hours ago, Sequence said: Sequence blinked, her expression blank. "... Oh. Ghost, do you think we could meet the other members of the Machination?" @Dragonheir “We do. We also make them powerful beyond their wildest dreams, give them luxuries, and allow them to escape death itself. I myself need fuel for my augmentations; the heart requirement was implemented after a group of mercenaries went rogue, attacked their fellows, and went off to start a protection racket. It may not be ethical, but it works. We can’t let people out, but they get internal leave.” The Ghost pauses. “I can bring members here, if you wish. Not for too long, of course. If you wish to interview them, I can take a spread of attitudes.” 2 hours ago, NameIess said: Erif’s Author is Fate. Same as Onyx. That’s why I’m worried the quest will take some time to start. Nameless came mostly into focus. Perhaps Malevolence would work as well. If you defeat and capture him, we can use him as bait. If not, you may have to create a character and send them to Onyx’s realm to make sure Tull and Onyx get the quest started. The Mordite sword teleported out of Malevolence’s hand in a shower of sparks. “It’s from her, if that is what you mean.” His voice rang out metallically from behind the helm, arrogance evident despite the distortion. “And I will not give you anything. You are the one who will be giving me what I want: Prismite.” With a crackle of lightning, a sphere appeared behind Rebus, projecting an Enulling field over him. “Yes… Fate is less involved than I believe he used to be. I suppose I can stop playing fair with Malevolence; anything by involving Onyx’s realm might be slowed to match Fate.” Rebus laughed, almost unaffected. “If I had been using Narration, you’d be dead already. Really, I have no reason to leave this body with a core at all.” He spun on a pillar of utility fog, seizing the sphere with his one Nullite-plated gauntlet. “I’m surprised you got her Nullite to function properly. It’s twice-contaminated. Mine, on the other hand…” A powerful anti-teleportation field emanated from Rebus’s armor, leaving Malevolence unable to bring his sword back. “I believe I’ve just won. Are you a graceful opponent?” 1 hour ago, SpiritOfWrath said: … Good point. Soooooo essentially The Shadow of Creation gave him all her power except a wee tiny bit And then he started resisting Aeia, creating Renders. And then when he performed the great Rending, he died, and with this, various Rending mechanics changed - tho the Rending he has here is the same. I also decided that he is definitely Ordered Dark - the chaos came after he died. The Render needed a name. Not his current one, and not his old one. He had no idea how much influence Aeia had here. He settled on the name of one of his childhood friends. “Tel,” he said, feeling the name as it passed his lips. It would serve his purpose. I reserve the right to pop this guy in any plot line I see fit. Alright. There was a darkness visible around a hundred feet away, encompassing perhaps a ten-foot sphere.

I’ll need to get a teleporter that Rebus doesn’t control - if you attract people maybe I can get one.” They tried to steal me from you, so I dealt with them. The Blade pulsed happily in Rebel's grip. They are not worthy to hold me. Only you are worthy. Something drew Rebel's attention to an ornate door made from gold and embedded doors, sealed with chains. There are others outside this chamber. "I suspect my method is flawed, though I doubt you could make what I have. I may stop using Nullite entirely - I need it for experiments and it interferes with other technology." Disassembling the door's chains, he multiplied his utility fog, then compacted them into an anchored block in front of the door, worming a few sensor tendrils through gaps to see the other side.
