She yelped, pulling away. Her hands were streaming with dust. Too much dust. She swore. “She kept hold, of course. You need to make her give up her power over everything before she deagghhh—“ Her lips were streaming too, now, hands barely stumps. She Narrated the sounds instead. 

“I’m not even sure she grasps what she’s doing,” her voice tumbled from nowhere. “She’s reaching for control, corrupting, and once she’s got everything, she’ll turn it all to dust. Her real name’s— she became Corruption. Remind her what it means! Remind her she’s human too…” 

She burst into a shower of gray ash.

The door shut suddenly without anyone touching it, and Tam hopped off of Bat and onto the kitchen counter. She started opening cupboards and drawers, looking for something she wanted to eat.

She stepped back and looked up at him.

He seemed so sad.

Hmm . . .

Being small helped her feel better when she was feeling down. Maybe it would help him, too?

She Narrated him to be be smaller -he wasn't an animal or anything, just a smaller version of himself, almost as big as she was- and caught him before he could fall. Then she pulled him into a hug.

She her head jerked towards him, alarmed, and tromped over to settle down next to him. She didn't remember the part about Rose being killed.
