Which made Tam panic because he was still standing.

She Narrated a little hammock for him to fall into while she jumped onto the floor. Then she brought him to to his bedroom, laid him carefully on the bed, and made the hammock vanish.

She hopped up onto the covers next to him and watched him anxiously.

Why had he just passed out like that? He'd been fine a few seconds before- what if something was wrong?!

What if the bread he'd eaten was poisoned? Or the water? She was fine, but that could have been because she hadn't drunk any-

What if he'd gotten hurt and she hadn't notice? Or worse, what if he'd tried to hurt himself again and she hadn't noticed?!

Of course, he could just be really tired-

But what if he wasn't?! What if he was dying?!

Anxious, she Narrated a little machine onto his arm to check his vitals and held her breath.

I thought he was on the couch though…

His vitals were fine. He was just very tired.

whoops

I don't remember that 😅

uhhhh oh well

She released a relieved breath and Narrated the vitals-checker away.

Unwilling to leave him alone, she hopped up and curled into a little ball on his chest, doing her best to fall asleep.

Unfortunately, she didn't. She spent the next few hours glancing between the door and the window to make sure no one tried to come through them. Her Author eventually just made her fall asleep because she severely needed it.

Dang good 😂

Bat slept for maybe a good ten hours and woke up pretty early in the morning. He was immediately relieved to realize Tam was still with him, and he smiled and pet her.

She stirred but didn't wake up.

That was probably good. He didn't want to wake her up, but he was also kind of hungry again.

He shifted just enough to sort through his bag again.

She kept sleeping. She'd had a very mentally and emotionally stressful day the day before, and really needed it.

Her dreams were filled with cinnamon rolls dancing around her.

She ate them all, and they were very delicious.

They screamed.

Off in the distance, baby cinnamon rolls sobbed and held a mini funeral.

Oh my.

Tam no longer wanted to be in this dream.

She jolted awake.

Bat smiled down at her and petted her head.

What a weird dream.

She smiled back and let him pet her, snuggling up against his hand.

"Hi," he said. "You hungry?"

After that dream? Not really.

She shook her head.

"Okay. You still tired? Oh--- you haven't had water for a while, huh?"

She summoned a tiny water glass that fit perfectly in her paws and drank the whole thing, amused with herself.

"Go on," he encouraged. "More. You're probably insanely dehydrated."

She sighed and drank a couple more.

He did some quick math.

"Okay. I'll wait until later to make you drink more."

She nodded, and the cup vanished.

He sat up, carefully sliding her down onto his lap. "So... what do you wanna do?"

She sat back and shrugged.

He took a deep breath. "Well... we... do need to talk sometime soon. About you."

Her ears flattened against her head and she shied back, eyes wide again.

"Hey, hey," he soothed, petting her. "Don't get scared. I just wanna help you."
