Wanna find something to do?

She walked backwards a few steps and sat on the ground.

"No."

She nodded. “We could make an evil sandcastle.”

Rose growled.

Well, the Scribe is already officially guarding two people, he couldn’t add a third.

Maybe.

A box of chocolates floated down to Rose.

Good point.

“It’s like comics, but moving pictures.”

“Sure.”

[The Scribe is mortified by that comment. He says “I created the crayon rock, I be smart!”]

The time it took for ya to find that…

Rose jumped and scrambled away.

2 minutes ago, Through The Living Glass said:

They were filled with chocolate, but also raw egg.

It was impossible to tell which was which.

Rose would never know, since she came from a culture where Narrators were evil. She wasn’t taking any chances, even if this WAS some kind of fever dream.

Oh well. Moving on.

Yes, but it tasted nothing like that, and carried no sickness.

she grabs popcorn out of the air and gives it to him.

Asher glares at her more and looks pyk. "Shouldn't we be asking her questions?" Riiiggghhhttt, asher thinks, your really sketchy and probably a really bad person.

”I know right?” He Narrated a tv, and began watching Avatar.

Pyk eats it. Yum.

Well, a note also appeared.

Hey! You are under my protection whether you like it or not! And if Bat objects, kindly remind him how Shoe and Beosta treated him and still treat. I find this similar, yes?

How do you make a sandcastle evil?

-

"Oh, I'm sorry, do you want to die? Or be turned into a zombie, or whatever it was you said earlier?" She looked at the box.

"Those . . . aren't mine, by the way," she said pointing to the chocolates. "I wouldn't eat them if I were you."

Respectfully, stop messing with our characters, please. :P

The Note doesn’t burn, but the letters scramble.

And the winning ticket is: I, O, U, 1!

She stared at the note, halfway positive that she was already dead and this was the hallucination of a dead brain.

“…okay.”

“I wasn’t going to eat them,” Rose said hotly. “And to be honest, I’d rather take my chances with…”

She trailed off, noticing again the ash by the tree. She swallowed. “Never mind.”

her eyes go wide and she intently watches it "wow"

Asher huffs "whats your name? Where are you from? And what's your business here?"

"You can call me hawks. I'm from everywhere and no where. It's confusing. And my business is to get to know about people."

Whats the scribe asking?

Malevolence glanced around. “Well, I guess here works. But Tam, could you check me for any listening devices? I’m worried Malan might have planted some on me.”

The Scribe wants Asher to trust Hawks/you I guess!

The Scribe watches it. He’s already seen this episode many times.

Okay, then let's build an evil sandcastle!

Tam grinned smugly. "That's what I thought."

She got back up and walked over, reaching for the machine on Rose's arm.

"Hold still."

The beauty of that show is epic

Asher keeps the scowl. But gives in. She seems harmless. So... why not? "Fine" she sheaths her knife. She leans to pyk "do we just continue chatting with her or what?"

Rose stiffened and flinched back, but did as directed.

YES ATLA IS SOOO GOOD

He helped her scoop sand into a pile. No idea. Guess we'll find out.

-

Tam almost wished she hadn't listened.

Oh well.

She pushed a little button on the top and stepped back.

"Okay, this will probably hurt a little, but you need to stay absolutely still. Got it?"

She smiled at him and began shaping the outer wall.

"Evil castle," the rock mentioned, floating over to watch.

"Evil castle. That's right."

"Wait," Rose said, panic entering her voice. "What are you doing? What's this thing doing?"

She sighed.

"Um . . . okay. Hang on."

She created another small machine that would look for mechanical energy signatures and collect them. She then walked around to the back of the cage and turned it on.

It floated over Malevolence's head and spun out small tendrils.

It looked rather like a jellyfish, actually.

"Um . . . are you sure you want to know? I don't want you passing out or anything . . ."

Rose's arm started to ache.

A mote, huh? A mote of dust? :P

She paused. "How big do we want it to be? By which I mean how small should I make the windows?"

--

"Fine, never mind." She closed her eyes, whispering something that looked like a prayer.

*gasp* HUSH

He shrugged. How big do you want it to be?

-

Tam grinned, though she tried not to. The pain in Rose's arm continued to increase.

Do your people worship any deities? she asked Bat in the meantime.

*Snickers*

"Well... I want it to be huge, but I want room for the spirits. So maybe tiny windows and big arches?"

---

Rose closed her eyes and hoped she wasn't dying.

A couple, yeah. But they're all kind of fake, right?

Oh, you want a more functional kind of castle? Then yeah, probably tiny windows.

-

The pain stopped suddenly.

I mean . . . yeah. I guess so.

"Lytikyria tiny evil," one spirit tried, floating lazily in a circle around the largest turret-pile.

"Mmm. I see."

--

Rose took a breath, relieved. "Well? What did you do?"

It would make the most sense to worship my Author, I guess... but that feels weird. I wonder if my Author has any deities.

"I tested to see what you'd been poisoned with, and how deep it had penetrated."

. . . That hurts my brain to think about.

The jellyfish collected a lot of mechanical devices, including but not limited to: A dimensional compass, three personal teleporters, a container of corrosive nanobots, and a pair of rocketboots. "I think that got all of my devices. Perhaps it got all of Malan's as well."

Not really. Lytikyria's our god, but she's not evil.

---

"...oh. Thanks."

She didn't appear to have been poisoned, strangely. Particles of the same ashy substance were present in her bloodstream and tissue, especially where she was tattooed. But it didn't seem to be hurting her at all.

He laughed. Doesn't it?

"My compass," Rose corrected. "That you stole."

He sighed.
