Kion shakes his head. “I determined that one there is a Faceless, so I captured it.” He does look visibly nervous, despite the causal words.

Faunus nodded, “Oh yes, a Faceless, because I was totally warned ahead of time those exist.” She said, voice practically dripping with the sarcasm in it, as she wrapped her arms around herself, as if such a gesture could protect her from the chill she felt.

The figure melted into a definite form— a sickly albino woman with knobby bones and sagging skin. She smiled.

“Firstly, evil is subjective. You’ll often hear the phrase ‘good vs evil’, but the evil differs. Usually ‘evil’ is used to mean something truly bad— no room for antivillains, for example. You are evil, as you wish only to do evil. However, your purpose is to do evil, though you’re only beginning your journey.

“Malevolence, as in your name, is a key component of any true evil. While you may be bad, you are not yet truly evil, because you have not  learned to hate.” She picked up a goblet of deep red liquid— wine?— in her spindly fingers. “I will teach you.”

"I see that I have much to learn." Malevolence bowed to his new master. "I am at your command. Teach me the ways of evil."

"The resemblance is uncanny." Moni said. She stood from tying a complex knot around the supposed Faceless's feet. "Why don't you let it go? Should be tied up well enough."

Rebus smiles at Omen as he is sent into the forge. When the mist clears, he looks around with interest, listing off the materials he recognizes. “Aerogel, steel, titanium, diamond- is that neutronium? You’re well stocked.” he says to the Dreamsmith (assuming he’s there). “I am Rebus, Narrator and technological expert. I’ve heard a lot about you.”

The Dreamsmith waves a dismissive hand. "All easy to come by, all useless to you. Welcome Rebus." He stood up from his forge and extended a hand. "Thank you for what you said to Omen. I have been worried about him recently. He grows sullen. Perhaps what you have done will help him."

Tempest smiled. "Julian's in the back. And, yes, of course, assuming Mother Entreri is fine with it."

"Very well, I shall inquire with Mother Entreri as to whether I may speak to him." The Priest hurried off to do so.

656 gave Subversion a look. "It's... been five minutes."

Subversion groaned loudly. "But it's been at least twenty pages since I've been waiting here. Why can't they just hurry on with it? At this rate, I'm going to have to start my book."

"Well?" The Dreamsmith prods the Emperor. "Do I have your permission to begin?"

Kion frowns. “The man who was in the cave earlier was hiding from them, remember?” He drops the magic when Moni asks.

Rebus takes the offered hand, shaking it firmly.“I hope it shall. The effort that giving all these visions must require would wear out anyone.” He waits for the Dreamsmith to speak, as demanding something be made for him would be rude.
I unfortunately must sleep. It’s bad timing, but I shall see you tomorrow.

“It’s something you see that isn’t real. This won’t hurt.”

He cut himself first just to make sure, then swiped it through her arm. “I’m gonna make a dragon appear over there. Ready?”

"Eep!" Then she giggled, excited.

"Okay!"

The albino grinned. “Now. Tell me about yourself. What do you love? What do you hate?”

"Okay!"

Bat grinned at the look on her face. A pink and purple and gold dragon appeared on the other side of the room, only about the height of a person. It waved across the barn to the girl.

“What’s your name again?” Bat asked.

Well, he was glad she liked the dragon. It poofed into glitter that formed into butterflies, then flew out the roof (or appeared to).

“Cool, huh?”

"So what's all that for?"

“It’s for healing people.” He took out a roll of bandages. “You’ve probably seen these before, right?”

“You’ve probably seen them get wrapped around somebody to stop the bleeding.” He returned them to the bag and pulled out a couple of pouches. “Before we do that, though, we wipe off the blood, wash it if we can, and disinfect it with these alcohol pads. They have some extra cave bacteria on there that help with that.”

"Mm. I guess so." She shrugged and put a piece of hay in his hair.

"How much do you have in there, Bat? I swear you have an endless supply- which wouldn't surprise me, to be honest, but still."

He shrugged, grinning bashfully. “I have a fair amount. It’s bigger than it looks.”

“HEY!” He ran after her as soon as he noticed. “GIVE THAT BACK! I NEED IT, YES! GIVE IT BACK!”

She giggled and grinned at Bat as he yelled at her.

He took a deep breath. “Yes? Could you PLEASE bring that back? Please?”
