It started raining tarantulas.

It wasn't that they were appearing out of nowhere, it was simply that Bat happened to be standing underneath trees whose branches were full of tarantulas.

He looked up, cursed, and started running. After maybe two steps, pain shot through his leg. He cried out and started limping.

Sequence widened her eyes just a bit, tilting her head and giving Unintelligible an odd look. “…Pardon?”

Unintelligible frowned. “Anglioh? Tetran semino.” He coughed. “Oh, right. Sorry, Ookla season. Takes effort to speak intelligibly. What happened? Did Everyone do this to you?”

How would Nogard be able to help? Wouldn't he be even more lost than you are?"

“Maybe. But I have a feeling that him knowing would help Subversion.” The traveler and Tam reach the edge of Onyx’s realm, and the traveler comes to a halt. “Where next?” She says to herself, looking around. “Perhaps… no, I’m not that desperate yet.” She looks at Tam. “Any suggestions?”

She shrugged. "Nothing comes to mind. This is your quest. So, where are you not desperate enough to go?"

He managed to drag himself a fair distance away, then curled up by the stump of another tree after carefully checking the branches.

Sequence laughed, but it quickly devolved into a fit of coughing, the momentary smile on her face quickly replaced by a mixture of grief and agony. When she finished, she groaned and laid back in her chair, wiping some black substance from her lips.

“Yes,” She said hoarsely. “They cast darkness unto my world.” Sequence shuddered. “Terrible darkness. Cardinal, and… And Fuzzy…” Her voice broke, and she shook her head. “They’ve been dealt with.”

awwwww

The spiders scattered into the underbrush.

The crow rubbed its head against Bat's comfortingly.

Bat pet the bird.

"Why do I even try?" He whispered. "This universe has it out for me. Or maybe it's the Narrators doing this. I keep failing."

It chittered softly.

"What's wrong with me? First my tattoos won't go away and nobody will tell me what's wrong with me, and now I've lost Gaioh and everyone's gonna die--" His voice broke.

The crow hopped onto the forest floor, studying Bat curiously.

Then it spread its wings and flew away into the jungle, leaving Bat alone.

Bat stared after him. Something he hadn't known had existed inside him snapped, and he curled up on the ground, too hollow for more tears.

The crow did not come back.

And so Bat stayed that way for a long, long time.

A short distance away, Tam woke up from her nap.

She hadn't slept all that long, but she did feel much better.

The hologram projector shows a picture of Rebus’s jaw dropping. “That is so absurdly exploitable *shocked stammering*” the projector writes beneath it.
Kion is confused, slightly. It’s likely a common reaction. “There are others, with other powers? I suppose I am here, so why not someone from somewhere else.”

Wait, what? That happens?

Kion nods. “That sounds worthy, as I said. Revolution could be a spell, actually. Perhaps it may be useful.”

So, first of all things going faster than light should go back in time, secondly because gravity is a property of spacial geometry slowing time should retain gravity, and thirdly slowing time is relatively nonsensical except in relativity time dilation things, which mess with gravity in different way on their own. Anyway, local FLT is possible, as long as it doesn’t communicate information faster than light. For instance, two things moving at almost light speed away from each other seem to result in a relatively velocity of faster than light, but information doesn’t go any faster. Or a laser pointer dot shined at something far away can move faster than light, but the information is moving at light speed from the person turning the pointer.

"Maybe."

The figure knelt. "You have power," he said simply. "My master wishes to form an alliance with you."

I will always respect an honest question. Ask.

If an observer A was traveling at near-lightspeed relative to an object, and another observer B was traveling at the same speed, but in the opposite direction, they would both perceive each other as moving slower than light. In our universe, an object can't be moving faster than lightspeed relative to an observer. It isn't possible.

As for the laser pointer, the only things that are moving are your hand (which I shouldn't need to convince you is moving slower than lightspeed) and the photons that comprise the laser beam (which I shouldn't need to convince you are moving at lightspeed.) The 'laser dot' isn't a physical thing- the photons that are hitting the faraway surface in one moment are not the same photons hitting that surface in the next moment.

I am in a creative mood.

So, if anyone wants,

send me a description of your RP character,

and i will draw them.

I am not amazing at art,

but I am pretty good.

ooh, if you're still up for drawing can you draw Cricket?

He's about 6'4", messy red hair, slight smile, muscular but slim, and wears a green hoodie with jeans.

"I wanna go home," he told the leaves on the ground. "I wanna go home."

"Oh." She eyed his bandages. "So that's what those are for . . ."

She tried to think of something that would help heal him without directing Narrating him.

"Your bird left?"
