Cricket gulped. Let me handle this. "I seek the Dreamsmith." he declared.

"Then you must face your trial." A clawed arm burst from Omen, and he held it towards Cricket. "Take my hand to begin your trial."

"Well then!" said Perseus. "We've got quite a walk ahead! Where are you from?" he asked Moni.

"From?" Moni shrugged. "I'm not from anywhere. I was created by the Narrator Nameless to be his avatar, and he did not care to give me a backstory."

Jilu looked down at the paperwork, which was turning decidedly red.

This did make it rather hard to read.

Why is Syl not working

I thought she was successfully helping Kaladin

What's wrong?

“I don’t know,” she replied. “If things are really going to be better…”

I want him to be proud of me.

Lettuce looked at her, puzzled. "Aren't you staying with a human?"

Qodi was affronted and told him that it was entirely different since Gail was HER human.

The paperwork was more complicated than what the others had been given, stipulating that Jilu had to agree not to kill any adventurers in addition to asking for her statement and her assurance that she would be truthful.

Careful.

She flinched. He will be. I brought Gaioh back, and I have a magic stoat. He’ll be proud of me. You don’t know him.

Good time to break out those other memories? 👀

. . . sure?

Well, that's good.

Do you . . . want to go back? he asked, though the thought saddened him.

They think she's dangerous.

An adventurer came into the room carefully. "Ah, you've signed? Good, good. Do you want to be with the others? You'll probably want to speak to the Wizard's lawyer before the trial."

Omen's head did not have any visible eyes, but Tam could still feel his stare. "And you, Narrator? Do you seek the Dreamsmith as well?"

"Alright, follow me." The adventurer led Jilu down a hallway, at the end of which was the room the other witnesses were in.

Tam started. "Oh . . . I'm just with him," she gestured to Cricket.

"He must face his trial alone. All who seek the Dreamsmith must do so."

Kion looks at the knife. “There’s no time to worry about that! We need to be celebrating! I need people to celebrate with. Do you like celebrating?” The distant bit of him not influenced by the spell keeps panicking. Why did I think this was a good idea?
The Render rearranges itself, putting most of its volume into wings. It sheds heavy material and picks up lighter substance from the ground. Soon, each jump sends it dozens of feet forward, getting faster every time.

The knife gave an amused hum. “Perhaps you should go find that woman you met at the party. You two seemed to get along, and you seem… Lonely.”

Faunus appeared beside him, because she could do that, and smirked slightly at his state of celebration. “Celebrate what?” She asked, that twinkle in her green eyes, as she sat cross legged on the ground, her once elegant dress gone, replaced with green trousers and a white blouse.

"On a scale from one to ten," Subversion said grumpily, wiping soggy cupcake off of her face. "I'd rate that summoning a 'read the room next time'." Lightning flashed behind her, and the rain quickly melted the confetti into mush. "Bacon, are you good at giving advice?"

"Advice? I'm absolutely fantastic at it! Useful advice... well, who's counting?" He leaned back. "What's the topic that requires advisement?"

"Give me a moment." A few seconds later, a wavering ball of blue flame appeared, allowing Selppaenip to see the Great Wizard, suspended from the ceiling by chains. "Do you have any experience as a lawyer?"

"None," said Selppaenip cheerfully. "But I have plenty of experience defending the innocent!"

The paperwork was a very long and wordy document that basically amounted to asking what he had witnessed and if he would testify truthfully about it.

Kion smiles even more broadly. “Yay, you’re here! As for your question, I have no idea! Earlier we were celebrating a certain number of pages, but when I tried Narrating, it’d been far past that.” He looks around at the pavilion he’s conjured. “It’d be a shame to let this go to waste, though. Magic has consequences for me, after all. But we can worry about that later.”
The Render continues glide-leaping across the Thread, the powers that be (read: Murphy’s law) preventing it from reaching Kion quite yet.

Faunus raised an eyebrow at him, her smile dropping quickly, “What kind of consequences?” She folded her arms across her chest, and frowned slightly at the pavilion, then she moved to sit down on bench along one side of it, her bare feet silent on the ground. Once sitting, she turned her attention towards Kion, brow furrowed in concern.

“Oh, just that I make a monster called a Render that always knows where I am and wants to kill me stronger with every spell I cast. But that’s not important right now, I should be celebrating!” The Render keeps getting closer, leaping through plains now.

[The loudest that has been recorded has made an entire planet deaf. But it was nowhere near the capabilities of a DBS system.]

She looked up at him sharply, “You do what now?” Faunus stood quickly, stepping toward Kion, and grabbing him by the shoulders. Then she shook him. “What’s wrong with you? This is no time to celebrate. How long have you been sitting here? How far is this Render?” Her green eyes full of concern, she dropped her hands to her side.

Kion finally figures out he’s brainwashed himself. “Cancelation.” Earlier, the spell drops and his eyes go very very wide. “What have I done? I’ve never messed around with emotions before; with the spell, I didn’t want to stop celebrating. And now I’ve made my Render so much stronger…” Right on cue, the Render crests the horizon, a massive shape quickly gliding towards them. “We have to get out of here before it reaches me! Sequence stopped it, but that was in the heart of their world. And my magic will do nothing.”
Alright, I need to sleep. Good night.
