The battle is won, and the dragon is satisfied.

The last of the mist dispersed.

"Is outside... safe?" asked one of the survivors.

Hmm. Well, we had best be getting you to headquarters so that we can un-merge you.

What are you doing? asked the Ennuller sharply, casually blocking Tenth's attempt.

Were there any sleep breaks in between then and now, actually? :P

Asher nodded “it is safe outside. If there are any injured or sick carry them. And we will head out. There are people more qualified to care for you above.” Asher said and turned to start going up the stairs. Just went down said to follow me and turned back to the stairs.

I KEEP THINKING ABOUT THAT

I guess some of them passed out but that's like

the only sleep anyone's gotten XD

Is something wrong?

She shook her head.

And no, things weren’t wrong. Everything was better, actually. Gaioh was alive again— which was something she never could have imagined she could do. She felt like she’d proved herself. She felt… worthwhile.

She looked up at Shoe. She didn’t understand why she’d gone into such a frenzy when he became a hostage— what was up with that?— especially since she hadn’t known him for very long.

But he was sweet and pure and incredibly compassionate………….

Oh, frik.

Friiiiiiiiiiiiiiik.

The realization XD

He nodded. If you're sure.

Something definitely seems wrong though, he thought to himself.

He began writing again. Also, you should know that Gaioh's not dead, he's just knocked out.

“I felt his pulse when I first woke up.” I need to sit down. I’m already sitting down. You’re already sitting down, idiot!

She cleared her throat. “Sorry. My brain’s not working. I think I mentally tore apart, like, twenty withergeists.”

You mentally tore apart twenty Withergiests? What does that even mean?

You can do that? Wow. That's . . . kind of terrifying, actually.

She smiled. “Yeah. I guess Livetha talent was handy after all.”

But… she’d stopped caring about whether Livetha was  powerful or not. She didn’t remember the last time she’d been angry about Livetha’s relative… well, weakness. She hadn’t minded when she had so many good people around her.

And when she could talk to Shoe.

And when she’d told him and he hadn’t been angry or terrified…….

Scud, she was screwed.

Speaking of which, he sat on the floor beside her, Do you think this will be good enough for your CD?

All of the Withergiests are gone now.

-

Tam slowly opened her eyes. Her side was absolutely killing her.

She carefully tried to sit up, but pain laced her side and she collapsed again on the ground, groaning. "Ugh, what happened?"

That's a relief. BTW I will be very on an off because I'm watching a movie. But it's in Russian so I have to read subtitles. 😆

Bat reached out belatedly to stop her from getting up. “You’re hurt. I don’t know exactly what happened, but you need to take it easy. You’ll be all right, okay?”

Shoe nodded solemnly. What does CD stand for, anyway? Surely it's not compact disk; that doesn't make much sense.

"Oh. Alright, thank you," Tam said to the young man, resting her head on the hard ground.

How old is Bat again?

@xinoehp512 can Mordite wounds be healing with Narration?

Salem awoke in the middle of an empty wood. Shadows, she had done it again. she had killed them. they were gone.

She was back to her smiling face, misleading as it always was. but a smile was a valuable tool. you can hide with a smile. you never lose if your smiling.

She sat up, brushing wood and moss from her pleated, black skirt, and then sighed. she was alone again.

She walked for a while like that, thinking about her latest screw-up. She hated the way it felt, being taken by the withergeist. her agency, her sense of self disappeared, as if she was no longer in her body, just floating above it and watching the massacre that ensued. When she finally got lonely, after the third day or so, she simply fell asleep.

She had a new group of friends to dream about. She would never lose them again. Bacon, Shoe, Bat, Livetha, and all the others wouldn´t die again. they were in her memories.

(she doesn´t know the others are alive, she thinks her shadow killed them)

Asher exited the basement survivors behind them. They went to walk to shoe. Asher figured he was somewhat like the leader. Or he took lead the best in ashers mind. One of the elder survivors stopped them "no they are having a moment. Leave them to it" Asher tilted their head. "Uhm. A moment?" Asher was confused. Confusion was one of the few feelings asher knew about. The survivor nodded. "A moment. Someone else can explain that. But go to someone else." Asher nodded. They turned to go to tam. "I have brought up the survivors. Oh your injured" Asher didn't sound surprised. But said it more in a this is a thing that happened tone. But trying to sound like they had emotion (it didnt work). They had been told their lack of it was unerving.

She frowned. “Dunno.”

“Of course. I’m much more suited to this than fighting.” He pulled out a small vial. “Here, open your mouth. A drop of this will help with the pain.”

A year ish younger than Beosta. So, like, 20- 21.

We should probably find Livetha . . . and deal with Gaioh as well . . .

Tenth looked the Ennuller, wide eyed. I don’t know.

The power attacked again, but in a different way. It acted on the ground beneath the Ennuller, Nullifying the force keeping them apart.

The Ennuller stood on empty air, calmly reaching out his hand. A wave of peace and tranquility and stability washed through Tenth.

The people buried in the dirt around them froze in place, held in stasis.

They can't simply be healed, but the process can be accelerated with focused energy. She'll probably be recovering for the next couple of days.

Oh dang

Tam is 22, actually.

I guess I never really said her age, huh?

Tam opened her mouth obediently.

Well peace doesn’t really work if Tenth isn’t in control…

Tenth straightened, calming. He was still unnerved, though. What is happening?

The power fought back against the peace. It Nullified the forces holding the survivors together, and returned the forces of some of the ground, their bodies scrambling apart.

Ah, right.

I gotchu.

Tam turned her head towards the group.

"Hey, nice job- Asher, right? Thank you for all your help." She looked down at herself. "I'll be fine; it's okay."

"Would you be a dear and go survey the extent of damage the town took?"
