Asher saw the confusion. “If you want. You can go help your friends. I’ll watch over these guys” Asher hoped that they trusted them. Even though they probably didnt. Worth a shot anyways.

Asher looked from the Bay to the fight. “Ya know. Im not sure how much worse this can get. Do you know how to fight? Or at least swing stuff around?”

“Uh. Well it’s easy. For the most part.” Asher pulls out their saxe knife. “Just like. Swipe.” Asher swipes through the air a few times “and pray it hits something. That’s mostly it. The basics.” Asher put the knife away “and uh. I dunno if it happens to anyone else but one i start fighting the weapon sorta just leads itself. But i dunno how accurate that info is. But i think you got the skill to do something.” Asher was clearly not good at trying to give help.

Asher sighed. How should they help. All of this came so easy to them. So how do you describe it to someone who is scared to hold an axe. Maybe another weapon? I mean battle axes are for more tank like people. And Bat wasn’t really that type. “Maybe—. No I couldn’t” Asher started but changed their mind. “These are your friends not mine. So you choose in what way to help. If you want you can fight. Or stay here. You can tell me what you want me to do. To stay here and help you guard. Heal wounds? It’s up to you”

“What the-?” Asher held their hand up and lit their fire in it. “Ya know when I first got magic fire i didnt think it would be useful but it kinda is.” Asher said absently. “Anyways. I was not necessarily … knowing of what was happening while i was..” Asher hesitated “fighting. .. .. so what is happening with this darkness stuff?”

Cricket sat brooding. He was still getting over the shock of discovering his other half. He had tried to talk to his other side, but the Enuller had been scared and noncommittal. It seemed almost insane, and the only thing that could make it come out was Cricket being in imminent danger. "Bacon?" Cricket called out. "Bacon! Have you ever met somebody who is part Enuller, like one soul, but two minds?"

"Charnyx," gasped the pale man. "Please..."

And then he died.

A withergeist rose from his corpse, looked around contemptuously at the gathered group, then twisted into darkness.

The fog around the town slowly began to dissipate, allowing the sun to shine once more.

Bat jumped back, but strangely, the shadow didn’t affect him. Weird that it was so big though. “I dunno. But… I should…” He squeezed the handle of the axe. “I’m gonna go help.”

"Yeah I did, me. When we were at Soul World, you saw two perspectives of each person, right? One is our body, what we look like. The other is our soul. Human souls appear as a pillar of light, Enuller souls a pillar of darkness, withergeists, a cloud of darkness. You get it. But me, I was a pillar of light with a ribbon of darkness around me. Two souls. Me and an Enuller. The Enuller saved last night. But what I did to that man, what I can do now, terrifies me. What if I lose control and Enull you?? I'm lucky enough I didn't unconsciously Enull your healing last night? I don't know how to control my powers. I need a mentor."

It is magic. It wont burn him. 

“Don’t worry. It wont hurt. And it will stay lit unless i put it out or… pass out or die.” Asher said “and if you wanna like shoot some fire just.. er think of it? I guess. And it will penetrate any darkness you encounter. And just let the weapon do the work. You’ll see when you swing it” Asher said trying to be helpful

Asher nodded then watched him sneak off. Then looked at the people they were now protecting. I will not fail. These people will stay alive… if they are still alive. Asher decided to see if there was anything they could do to help out the unconscious people.

The blade pierced through the dome of vines and stabbed the pale man in the chest. He screamed. Vines boiled over the wound, trying to heal it, but to no avail. The rest of the dome withered and fell apart.

"No," he gurgled faintly. "This... can't be..."

TP would have grunted, but his nostrils were sealed up. He was going full speed, and this Ghanderflaffle could still catch up? That hardly seemed fair.

Well, he was a slippery Plot-beast when he needed to be. He initiated evasive maneuvers. Surely one of the people on his back would be able to help him out.

"Hmm," said Selppaenip. "That does seem problematic. Is there anything we can do about that while fleeing from your former compatriot?"

He gestured to the General.

Indeed. We are told you know of their nature.

The guard made a feeble swipe with his sword and was impaled. He collapsed.

A withergeist attempted to pull its way free of the corpse, tearing itself on Conflict. It ripped, fading away with a faint hiss.

Pyk grinned grimly from beneath his helmet. He once again closed his broken eyes, then inspected the battlefield. He chopped through as many nearby Withergeists as he could.

Well, Gaioh should prolly stay unconscious cuz he’s possessed, but Beosta just used a lot of energy. You can bring her back if you want, but it might be nice to wait on her.

They are just gonna see if there are any wounds. Because Asher doesn’t really know about anything that was happening. When they went dark their mind was like blank. So yeah

 

asher crouched down next to beosta. They recognized this one. She had been there in the basement and mansion. Focus Asher. any wounds?

Asher nodded. they didnt seem to have any wounds that was good. At least. And the other one. Didn’t either. Granted Asher was sure that they saw the others knock him out so they were probably bad.
