Subversion read the contract, then nodded. "Very well." Reaching to the side, she summoned her Narrationblade in the form of a pen, then signed her name nonchalantly in glowing energy. "Here you go. Hold up your end of the bargain and I'll hold up mine."

"This person, you mean? He is an old friend of mine, from the days before I learned the secrets of normalcy." discomfort flashed across ...'s face as he turned back to the old man "I cannot help you. I am not the man I used to be. I wish I could do something, but... I cannot."

"You could testify in my favor. They would listen to you, if to anyone. Old friend, please. He has turned the whole council against me. Even now, their hunters draw ever closer, and I doubt very many beside yourself would ever trust me." The old man absently held some rice out to the side, feeding an invisible rabbit. "Please, help me. I cannot do this alone."

"It was what I was made for." Subversion quietly summoned a complicated contraption of mirrors to see what Bacon was writing.

The three pressed Platypus fiercely, sparks flying as their blades clashed with his. "Hurry up!" the voice snapped. "Do not give him time to use his powers!"

“Bet,” she said. She’d intentionally not put anything in the contract that would restrict her to a time limit or fix any punishments for failing. Just in case.

Livetha chittered inquisitively.

“I’ll explain later,” Beotha told her stoat, who climbed back to her perch as a hat.

Tull saw Beotha talking to a strange figure, and decided to watch. So Beotha was going to steal from him… and such a powerful person. He waited for the person to leave.

"Oh, and if you take too long, I may start recruiting other people to get me the Plotblade, so don't dawdle."

“Who are you? What do you want with my blades? May we perhaps work out a compromise…”

Tull took multiple lerasium beads.

@SpiritOfWraths post

Beotha stared at him, feeling very guilty.

Subversion stared blankly at the Lerasium. "What is that for exactly?"

“A quick escape, if needed.”
“Beotha. I hope you don’t still want to murder Gail. I’m not giving up these blades lightly.”

”Shoe.”

“No,” she muttered. “I don’t wanna murder Gail. Are you a narrator too?”

Sequence's eyes lit up a bit. "The Brave Adventurer, you say? Hm... I think I'd like to meet him! And help you all with this world saving quest. Sounds important, and I am dreadfully bored."

"Uh. Well I doubt he'd be happy to see us. Seeing as we stormed their headquarters and all."

Shoe resigned to not give up any information until Bacon told him what he and Beotha were planning.

Shoe nodded.

Shoe sighed. He missed Nogard.

"Aww, come on," wheedled Bacon. "Not even a hint?"

I must resist. I... must... be... normal-!

He let out a groan, unsheathing his katanas dramatically. It was no use.

"I am Selppaenip!" he called. "Destroyer of Pineapples! Defender of the Innocent! If there is any way in which I can help you-!"

She saw "when they see her" and then Bacon whisked the paper away, eating it. "No looking! It's a surprise."

“Let’s see.” Tull impaled himself with the Benevolent blade, the first time it fully entered his body.

”Yep. I am! How else do you think I got these lerasium beads?”

What is this conversation XD

Tull nodded. “She has more access to the plot than a normal character. She is more… aware.”

She frowned. “Plot? …and she can do cool stuff?”

Two minutes later he was back at Shoe's feet, kneeling and begging. "Please! I need the answer! I'll do anything!"
