    • the first time she appeared, an alethi woman would have been too out of place. Plus the name.

The first time I read OB, I realized Azure was vivenna when the people she struck with her blade turned grey, the color of the lifeless. Upon rereading, I realized there were many more subtle clues that could have tipped me.

So, I'm curious and I started a poll. When was your eureka moment that you realized she was vivenna?

Totally the metaphors. To be fair, we were expecting her to show up, so part of me was already on the look out for her as I was reading.

"It'll be crimson to break" and immediately after realization, knew I should have figured it out before that. But that's what it was!

The First Color metaphor She made.

I had a suspect splitted between her and someone holding an Honorblade before the metaphor

I hadn't actually read warbreaker till after OB but thanks to the forums I new zahel was from the book, so her first colour metaphor was what tipped her of as being related to him.

It was also a weird experience seeing what vivenna was like in warbreaker after only seeing her being a badass shard bearer.

we were expecting her to show up, but by the time I got there, I was so engrossed in reading that I wasn't paying attention anymore. that's why it took me a bit longer than most to figure it out.

There is also the fact that while my english is good, I am not a mother speaker, and so if I see some obscure metaphor I don't undertand, my instinct is to ignore it and figure out its meaning from context. Because there are figures of speech that are specific of the language and I'm not familiar with.

I was suspicious from the moment I heard Azure, but as soon as we saw her I was 99% sure it was Vivenna. The color metaphors just made it 100%.

At the very beginning of the Shadesmar sequence. Adolin notices that her hair has changed color, and that the scars on her face have faded slightly.

Thanks @Calderis. I don't have my book on me.

Butit was like just a few paragraphs when she says she's not from Roshar. I was too wrapped up in the Shardblade mystery that I completely overlooked the color metaphors. It doesn't help that Warbreaker was the third Sanderson book I read, after I read the first SA books. Then I dove into Elantris, Mistborn and such. So I was a little rusty on Nalthian mannerisms.

ok, i added the choice in the poll

At first, I thought it might have just been a Radiant. But when she started speaking that Nalthian gibberish, I knew immediately who it was.

It was about the third time she used a colour metaphor that it fully clicked for me. I thought I was so clever for figuring it out but then as I kept reading I realised Brandon was leaving clues all over the place and I had actually missed a lot of them.

When she appeared I was very sure it was her. I usually try to not thinking to much beyond the story contained in the very book I'm reading, but I kept remembering Brandon saying to look out for Vivenna, and once you focus on finding the girl, it is pretty easy to spot.

The first color metaphor. I think it was at the dinner or maybe right after the skirmish with the Fused at the walls? Can't remember off the top of my head, but I felt like a moron for not seing it earlier. Up till that point I had been thinking a Herald, or Stonewarden. I had basically ignored the weird Shardblade, guess thats what happens when reading a book OB sized in 2 days. Some things are just thrown into the back of my head while reading ^^.

I suspected when we heard about the sword, but knew for certain when she said "White on black."
