It's mostly Zeth with a little hint of an S at the beginning.

How do you pronounce Szeth's name?

Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW]

Zeth.

Questioner [PENDING REVIEW]

Just the Z?

Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW]

Yeah. There's a little bit of s...

Questioner [PENDING REVIEW]

And Sazed?

Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW]

So, he says something more close to Saze-d. But Kelsier says Say-zed. And people just kind of go with what Kelsier does. I say Say-zed also.

Why not?  Because he liked the look of it, because the subtle S was nice?  Why name Rock Numuhukumakiaki'aialunamor when he knows few readers and few characters are ever going to call him that?

Because he knows that hardcore fans will memorize it anyway. :P

Because it's not an English name, and there are dipthongs we don't typically use. The s is subtle, but it's still there, and it fits with the linguistic structure that is built into the dawnate language group.

well in rock's case (not sure if i should capitalize rock) he told us his name to as one of the ways to establish his very different culture (and for a joke) in Szeth's case there is no real grammatical difference and it dosn't sound any odder then Shallan or Kaladin i doubt that was Brandon's intention with the name seeing how later on he brought up the cultural difference by having people refer to him as Szeth son son Vollano its obliviously Brandon's choice i just find it weird

How do you know we do not use dipthongs in private? Some of us are a little shy showing off our dipthongs publicly, but are quite comfortable using them at home.

I always pronounced it as Z-ee-th, with perhaps a slight s sound at the beginning as other posters have said.

I always really liked that name and found it very fitting for the character as it rhymes with seethe, which I imagine the poor Truthless fellow does quite a bit.

You can hear Brandon (repeatedly) show off how he pronounces it in this WoB via the audio link, if you're curious

Because apparently how names reflect language and culture can only differ from others in one way, there can't be multiple things distinguishing Shin names and language from other Rosharan groups, of more or less subtle form...

I know now this has been answered already but I suffer from the desperate need to be included. My  psychiatrist believes it stems from my stern and decidedly sand offish father figure.

So... your father is Praxton and Kenton is your little brother? I have so many questions about Dayside I want to ask you. :D
