I didn't realize ORV had 551 chapters 💀 I don't have enough time in a day to even make a dent in this 😭

Also guys, who here has read/watched Solo Leveling?

Pretty please? Even just 1 chapter a day is enough for me.

Finally got around to watching Dandadan (having read some of it before when it was web-only), and I'm happy to say it's as good as I remember--better, even. Its cracked, absurdist sense of humor is exactly up my alley, and it balances it with the dramatic elements quite nicely. Maybe I'll have to pick the manga back up.

Also, Spy x Family S3 is so far, so good.

First episode of You and I Are Polar Opposites was so sweet. I'm abut to finish the manga and it's already my favorite romance. Been looking forward to this so bad.

Do you want something recent? In which case I would say Saigo ni Hitotsu dake Onegai shitemo Yoroshii deshou ka and Tensei Akujo no kuro Rekishi were both strong anime from last fall.

Also, Turn A Gundam is pretty good. It has a lot of neat theatrical drama devices around mistaken identity and doublegangers.

For a more light-hearted comedy, I would recomend Saiki K

I'm not normally much into sports anime, but I really enjoyed Turkey: Time to Strike! a lot which aired in the last year.  Kinda hard to describe what makes it good; it's one of those anime where it's worth giving it an episode or two and seeing if it's your thing or not.

I don't rlly watch anime...but I watched an anime body-swap movie a bit ago called Your Name. that was rlly good. Also, (and this is how I found out abt it) it was part of the Brandon's inspo for Yumi.

Ah, that's a good one. Everything by the director is. He's somewhat infamous for being repetitive, which he is, but I still think each of his movies is worth watching. They each do something unique.

I had fun with Yumi because it was like... page 12 where I clocked "oh, this is Sanderson's take on Your Name".

Spoiler

... which is actually before the body swap, so I was pretty smug when that happened a bit later.

And then there's the twist later where she's not from the other planet and, due to Your Name, I immediately thought "oh, it's time travel", and then I turned the page and the first words of the next chapter were "It's not time travel"; which was hilarious.

Funnily enough, I was so distracted on the Your Name parallels, I completely missed the FFX stuff, until it was mentioned in the afterward, which is a bit surprising as that's my favorite video game story of all time.

For a mostly light romance: Horimiya

For a more serious, philosophical shonen: Trigun (1998, not trigun:stampede)

Your Name. because that's basically the only anime I've watched.

It's a body-swap anime movie. Part of what inspired Brandon's Yumi.
