Korbin
I have a question for you guys. Do you think that the heralds will play a big roll in future books? Or do you think they are just a past power. Also are there any WoB on this?
RShara
Ash and Taln are going to be viewpoint characters in the back five.
Bort
I believe they still have a part to play, even if not as active combatants, but maybe as sources of information about the enemy. Some will probably become enemies, and others will be worthless. That's what I reckon at least.
Toaster Retribution
Nale is already having an active role, Ash and Taln will be important, and Jezrien is pretty dead (R.I.P). There is a WoB that they will be more of a major part in the story during 6-10.
StormingTexan
Yep Brandon said the back 5 are pretty much all about the Heralds. I think he said something like some are Heralds and some think they are Heralds. Edit here is the WoB I was thinking about. Quote Ruro272 (paraphrased) Will we see all of the Heralds doing things in the upcoming books? Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased) The back five books are all about the Heralds. Two of them claim to be Heralds... Two of the point-of-views will be Heralds. Edited December 13, 2017 by StormingTexan

So two of these are definitely Heralds... Though may also not be ones anymore by the end of book 5, but still identifying as such (which seems more plausible than two of the other three suddenly going delusional). Is that a huge spoiler he gave us there, or am I reading too much to it? I've been pro new Heralds theory anyway, but... Wow.

I thought the exact same thing as in two of the back 5 flashback characters will claim they are Heralds. I do not think he means the flashback characters though just that there will be two characters that will "claim" they are Heralds. I am totally on board we will get new Heralds. I'm now not sure if I understood the quote correctly. I assumed, that he was talking about four different characters, but maybe he just corrected himself, speaking about only Ash and Taln after all. STILL, next five books being "all about heralds" when we have two POVs from them?? I don't buy it. I hope/think, that the POVs from current books will stay with us, even without flashbacks (do we maybe have any WoB on that?), and making them those near-divinities who come and help when needed is quite perfect. Aand I don't see Brandon missing on this opportunity since he likes turning his characters into gods so much So, the most plausible scenario is I think: Edited December 13, 2017 by Ailvara
