EC11
So I discovered that Amazon will be producing a Lord of the Rings prequel series. I have mixed opinions. In more short form I don't know how well they can pull if off. In my own humble opinion a story centered on Aragorn as a prequel would be a disaster. However, one centered on say, Faramir and Boromir (and other secondary characters) could easily take off and do well. Do any other Tolkien fans have an opinion?
Toaster Retribution
They should do a spin-off centered on Bolg. Seriously though, I'm carefully optimistic. Want to hear more about it before placing judgement.

I tend to look warily on prequel material though, so we shall see.
Stampede
I’ll wait and see. Some Glorfindel would be sweet though.
Orlion Blight
I'm pretty much done with Tolkien in all his forms right now. It was a fun ride, plenty of memories, but we just grow apart! Also, I feel this is turning more into Tolkien parody than Tolkien adaptation. Kinda like what Smallville did to Superman.
Mulk
honestly, what I want is a mini-series on the Silmarillion. The Fall of Fingolfin, Beren and Luthien, The Fall of Gondolin are all stories that deserve a visual, at least imo they do. I'm withholding judgment on this till we have more details. That's not enough to go on with right now. If they try to make it GoT: the LOTR edition I'm out.

Trying to ape Game of Thrones by making it a "Darker Edgier Lord of the Rings" it would be a scandalous waste.
Steeldancer
No. They'll mess it up

Balin and Moria, b. Boromir, or c. Glorfindel.
Toaster Retribution
What I would like to see is more info on Mordor/Angmar/orcs, but in more Tolkien-friendly spirit than the likes of Shadow of Mordor. I love the game, but the things they do there aren't really connected to Tolkiens Middle-Earth, at times.

Like, I dunno, tagging powers that are specifically debunked by the books onto canon characters At this point I'm completely cynical in regards to new LotR content, as nothing I've seen was nearly up to my standards and I really think it should be left to stand in the glory it's creator planned for it, rather then being undermined by forced additions.
