The Everstorm,” Syl said. “Power has filled the holes in their souls, bridging the gaps. They didn’t just wake, Kaladin. They’ve been healed, Connection refounded, Identity restored. There’s more to this than we ever realized. Somehow when you conquered them, you stole their ability to change forms. You literally ripped off a piece of their souls and locked it away.”

How the heck did the Bondsmiths discussed in that one epigraph DO THIS??? An entire Species, their Spiritweb changed? Thats... such a demonstration of power. How did they even get the investiture to do that????

Is there a timeline for when the Parshmen were enslaved?

Could it have been Ishar/the Heralds, rather than a regular Bondsmith KR?

It's been implied numerous times that the Heralds had stronger/more powers than the KR's, I can see this being something they did to try and hinder Odium.

The referenced epigraph:

Quote

"So Melishi retired to his tent, and resolved to destroy the Voidbringers upon the next day, but that night did present a different stratagem, related to the unique abilities of the Bondsmiths; and being hurried, he could make no specific account of his process; it was related to the very nature of the Heralds and their divine duties, an attribute the Bondsmiths alone could address."

Notice the 'related to the very nature of the Heralds' part. It's not that simple. I'd hazard Bondsmiths can also unbond like a smith could forge a sword and melt an existing one.

At this stage, I'm thinking they used the Rythms of the Parshendi and/or their connection with the Unmade to affect them all at once.

I believe the Listeners were saved because they severed this connection with Dullform? Or am i mis remembering?

It's probably similar to Ishars likely ability to alter the Nahel bond and destroy all Surgebinders.

Didn't the Parshendi say something like they fled from their gods and abandoned the powerful forms of old (bonding no more Voidspren)? Maybe the connection was only severed from those carrying any sort of Voidform, resulting in breaking their connection. Which in this case would have been the vast majority. The Parshendi didn't use those forms for so long that they've become legend, but are technically able to assume them again.

Didn't Nale say that pockets of void form Parshendi had been found in the past though? I may be misremembering Edgedancer though.

No idea but we do have one other piece of evidence of a similar magnitude of power, the Shattered Plains themselves.

This assumes that the divestment of the Parshmen, and the Shattering of the plains were two events.

I'm beginning to think that these are the same event.

Maybe that is what killed Honor. Affecting the spirit web of an entire species probably took a lot of power, maybe they used the honor blades that are bound to honor to use his power, or some other mechanism, and the end result is it killed him.

That was odium.

But this event requires WoA levels of power. Where could that be acquired in Roshar? Hmmm
