Makes me feel like that nerdy little kid all over again!

At a certain point in my life, I assumed that I was pretty well done with OBSESSIVELY nerding out over things. Don't get me wrong, I still get really into an excellent movie or TV show...but just not in the same way that I used to, you know? Not in that scouring the internet for tidbits, reading every last drop of an author's work, memorizing names and places kind of way. That's why Brandon Sanderson has been such a blessing for me. His incredible writing and beautiful world building has rekindled a childlike sense of nerdy obsession in me. I had forgotten what I was missing until I cracked open Mistborn, and my headfirst dive into the Cosmere began. I feel like I'll never know everything there is to now, which-based on his prolific output, is a very real possibility!

Here's my personal definitive ranking:

  1. Stormlight Archive
  2. Mistborn: Wax and Wayne
  3. Mistborn (Original Trilogy)
  4. Emporer's Soul (my favorite short story he's ever done, by a country mile)
  5. The Rithmatist
  6. Reckoners Trilogy
  7. Alcatraz and the Evil Librarians Series
  8. Legion/Legion: Skin Deep
  9. Warbreaker
  10. Elantris

Also, I agree, I've always been one to obsess over books/movies/TV shows/etc. I do agree that Brandon somehow creates this sense of epicness (that's a word, shhhh) and wonder within his books and worlds that just invites you to obsess over them and become thoroughly invested in them (pun intended lol). Mistborn was my first venture into the Cosmere as well, and I absolutely loved it! I'd gone into it planning on reading the entire Cosmere, but I was definitely hesitant to do so at first. I got over that real quick with the first trilogy. ;)

Anyway, welcome to our amazing forum! Have fun!
