I just think that it is interesting that Nazh seems to be focused on Shallan. The drawings he collects are all hers and he knew exactly where she landed after the shipwreck...

He's more exploratory than you think. The "odd ardent" that Rock chases out of Bridge 4's area was Nazh(From when he was observing the bridgemen to make the brands/tattoo illustration). The endpaper of WoR is a page from Navani's journal that he "acquired" and made a copy of.

I imagine there'll be a lot more of his illustrations in the next book.

Yes it is. I just think it is interesting that Nazh, Khriss' sidekick follows shallan and not someone else. I suppose he may have been watching janash and then when she "died" decided to follow shallan to the shattered plains.

I suspect he's just tracking surgebinders. And in the case of Navani, a fabrial expert. Basically grabbing evidence of Rosharan magic systems. That's basically what Khriss does, studies magic systems. An interesting question is how they find them.

also, I have to wonder if Nazh has any magical abilities to help him get away with all this. I cant imagine Navani regularly lets ardents steal parts of her journal, and Shallan and Jasnah are notoriously hard to track.

Not only that but he also retrieved one of Shallan's sketches from the bottom of the ocean.

I'm thinking Isasik, Dalinar's Ardent cartographer is also Nazh. There's little behind it except that Nazh's map in the book is a copy of the one Shallan makes on the Shattered Plains, and that Nazh is Isaac's character and Isasik is named after himas well.

Just based on the tone used in the map commentary, it feels right.

Truly no small feat. Since the water in shadesmar is solid and looks 'like obsidian', I think he must have gone through the Physical Realm. Especially with the 'you owe me a new coat' comment.

Nope, he's not.

Question

My crazy theory is that Nazh is Isasik Shulin

Brandon Sanderson
He is not. Nazh is Isaacs character, he designed him and came up with him. I said need somebody to be getting these, and the character is all him, doesnt necessarily look like him. He wants to write some stories in the Cosmere; he might write about Nazh.

WELL FINE THEN!

Lol, I wish I had an eidetic copy of the WoBs... Would make posting so much easier.
Even if false, some of the references were misleading. And we DO know that Isasik is named after Isaac, even if Nazh is Isaac's actual character.

I just searched for "nazh" on theoryland which turned up just 17 WoBs. Not that much to go through.

EDIT: To the downvoting people: it was meant to explain I do not have eidetic memory and that it was really simple to do and meant to convey that praising me for doing such a simple thing feels weird.
It was not a jab at Zmann or anyone.
Thank you for your attention.
