We have one story of a person using a moon to meet with honour, so perhaps that is.a clue to how the portal juts around? Maybe it is pulled my lunar forces, and with a three body problem, it would be near impossible to predict where the perpendicularity would go next. We know the moons have weird orbits and are 'something' - could this be it? 1
