Delightful
My local bookshops suppliers don't know that White Sand exists, and Book Depository doesn't have any copies in stock. Amazon says it'll ship in 1-2 months, and the one other site I found it on is charging $40. .........Help? Please?

Delightful
Yup I come from the Land Down Under. I don't think I have a local Barnes and Noble :/. I haven't heard of Minotaur either but I'll see if they ship. Thanks guys Edit: Looks like B&N don't exist in Australia. Wonderful. I've emailed them :/ (And minotaur wants $50?! Is that a normal price for a 150 page comic?!) Edited July 13, 2016 by Delightful
SAMWAF
The thing to remember is that the publisher of this book, Dynamite, is a relatively small company. They don't have the resources of Brandon's normal publisher(s). It's out of stock everywhere as demand has overwhelmed them, and I assume it will stay that way for a bit until they print more.

They didn't expect huge demand? Kind of weird. But that does totally make sense.

TPB's are like 3-6months after release IIRC

I would say it's probably not about expecting demand but rather on executing. Brandon's normal publishers are imprints of the world's largest publishers. They have the ability to print and warehouse any number of books. Dynamite probably wouldn't want to put up the money to print a million copies of these books, if they don't know how much they're going to sell. Or maybe they couldn't print that many if they wanted to, because they literally don't have enough money to give to the printing press for fear it would bankrupt the rest of their operations. It looks like Dynamite has had 0 books on the NY Times Best seller list in 2013 (http://www.comicsbeat.com/who-sold-what-new-york-times-graphic-novel-bestsellers-2013/) and maybe 1 book in 2014 (http://www.comicsbeat.com/what-a-year-that-was-bestselling-graphic-novels-from-the-2014-new-york-times-bestseller-lists/). White Sand is currently #2 on the NY Times list for graphic novels. How do you compare that to Tor (Macmillan) or Gollancz (Hachette) or Marvel/DC, who field best sellers on a weekly basis? You can't. But waiting might not be terrible anyway, as there will probably be fixes to some of the errors in the first edition. Obi-WanLebowski
$16.24 from bullmoose music. I doubt you'll find it much cheaper anywhere. http://www.bullmoose.com/p/22121474/rik-hoskin-brandon-sandersons-white-sand-volume-1

The store you linked ships only within USA.

Orlion Blight he/him
Yeah, you might want to wait a bit on this one. Fifty is a bit much, I think, for this book.

I think Australia is still not as troublesome as Poland @Delightful Well, I bought White Sand from amazon for $17.something (I was a little too late to get it for $15 ). Shipping to Poland (to my surprise, as amazon shipping costs table told me something different) was about $8. All in all I paid about $7 more than I planed, but it was still less than what I'd pay in one of Polish stores (except the one which I was too late to preorded and God only knows when they will have it again in stock - and I still payed only about $1 more). I was angry that they plan to deliver it in between 5.5 weeks and 13.5 weeks but today they moved the timetable and it's scheduled to ship today (or tomorrow, depending whether it's past midnight in your timezone or not). ETA is now shortened to between 5.5 weeks and 8 weeks. And I think Australia is a much easier delivery target than Poland, so maybe you could get it in about a month?
