Cosmere Special Forces

Okay, in an arbitrary amount of time, an arbitrarily powerful enemy will exist in the Cosmere. You have to scout out and recruit a Special Forces team to fight against said threat.

Who/What do you pick and why?

Rules:

1- No Shards

1a - No splinters that have not been seen to have clearly demonstrated abilities in the novels

1b - No "Infinite Invesiture" assumptions

2 - Assume all abilities work as is most intuitive unless a WoB/Novel clearly states otherwise.

2a - WoB that contradict will give precedence to the most recent quote.

3 - Assume that no exceptionally invested individuals exist/are willing to joining(I.E Vin, Heralds, Nightblood ect...)

3a - Hemalurgy will not be possible on such individuals

3b - Creation of said invested individuals are only allowed as follows the other restrictions

4 - Assume that political/theological differences are trivialized(I.E All factions will unite against this threat)

4a - Surge Binders will follow their oaths as much as possible

For the scouting aspect I would recruit Kandra - preferably TenSoon but I would take as many Kandra as I could get.

Due to the unknown strength of the enemy and, I assume, unknown location I would lean heavily on Metalborn from Scadrial. Their magic is the least dependent on a location/resource (e.g. Aons/Stormlight). I would either send the Metalborn to Nalthis and have them stock up on Breaths (lots of great passive abilities plus some useful active abilities) or I would try and recruit a strong Awakener(s).

I would try and recruit a world hopper group (17th Shard, Ghostbloods etc.) for research and also for training my worldhoppers.

I would also require each team member to have a weak hemurgic spike to communicate with Harmony. (Is that breaking the rules?)

Kelsier for planner/leader

Marsh for a powerhouse

Wax seems like the type that would fit in in a special forces environment

Khriss for info

Shallan is a spy and she would work well with disguises

Kaladin for transportation and another useful surgebinder

Lift to power the other surgebinders, plus she's a thief (we can buff her with bendalloy compounding from marsh and a hemallurgic spike in lift)

Wayne for another useful spy

I would pick Shallan, Jasnah, Lift, Marsh, and lots of Kandra and Elantrians.

Marsh has ton of power.

Elantrians don't have as much power, but with their versatile abilities, they could wreak quite a lot of havoc with Aons such as:

    1. Disguises

    2. Shields

    3. Explosions and other energy blasts

    4. Healing

    5. Teleportation

Lift can regenerate other people, and can travel quickly as an asassin or on the battlefield as a medic.

Elantrians can too, and they have instantaneous travel, but not as accurate in short amounts of time.

Jasnah and Elantrians can transport people to different locations almost instantaneously.

Shallan and Jasnah could soulcast things into food, and Lift could eat that food.  Assuming that Soulcasting does not cost that much stormlight,  Lift could have quite a lot of stormlight by eating a lot, and therefore could have a lot of healing capacity.

Shallan, Kandra and Elantrians could disguise themselves to spy and get more information.

Cloudjumper, I think that you just found a way to get infinite investiture..

I'd say that Soulcasting food is almost certainly more Investiture-intensive than eating the food :P

For my special forces:

Navani: Research and Engineering

Steris: Planning

Bridge Four, Demoux and Aradel: Footsoldiers (Pre-Atium Demoux)

Adolin: Leader

The non-powered forces are here to use Investiture and kick butt. And they can't use Investiture.  B)

Khriss for the knowledge and 17th Shard insider info

Shallon because she's my favorite from SA and for Ghostbloods insider info

Wax and Wayne for shock & awe (also: Wax: detective; Wayne: streetsmarts/infiltration)

Steris for planning, especially contingency planning

Vin (pre-vessel/splinter) for scouting, guerilla warfare

Kaladin for combat (spearman) and military knowledge/training plus medical knowledge

TenSoon for infiltration

Edit:

Sixth of the Dusk as the ultimate scout (one bird that hides his presence and the other that foreshadows where death awaits). Props to IndigoAjah for the reminder.

Well this sounds vaguely like the Avengers, which means we must put together a team of people who hate each other (that's how that movie worked, right? Never actually watched it).

Therefore...

Kelsier (Hates Hoid)

Hoid (Hates Kelsier)

Vasher (he seems like he'd not get along that well with others)

Frost (to get pissed at everyone for intervening in things)

Galladon (Needed an Elantrian on the team, also he's probably pretty mad at Hoid for evading him so long in WoK)

Jasnah (I seem to remember her being pretty annoyed with Hoid in WoR)

Sounds like a good team to me, covers every major shardworld except Taldain (Khriss doesn't hate anyone on the list enough), can't wait for the wacky hijinks to ensue. All we need is a Kandra for infiltration and to be the leader trying to get everyone to work together. I nominate TenSoon.

Kelsier would lead my team. I'd have Marsh in a tank-like role. Szeth and Kaladin on aerial assault. Lift for healing. Tensoon. Susebron for Breath. Vasher and Nightblood. Vasher for experience and Lifeless, and Nightblood because, well, it's Nightblood.

Just to clarify before I give my answer, do you mean scout out the enemy and show how I use my team to scout it? Or scout out my special forces team and explain why I chose each member?

Scout out members for your team and explain why you picked them. However, I would expect any combat against unknown enemies to require scouting.

For the scouting aspect I would recruit Kandra - preferably TenSoon but I would take as many Kandra as I could get.

More than just harmony can speak to those with Hemalurgic spikes, but I'll allow it. As long as we all agree that Harmony doesn't do anything but work as mission coordination

I would use Kandra, Warriorform Parshendi riding Ryshadium, Wax, Steris, Thunderclasts and Blackthorn Dalinar.

I like how your the only one to even consider the Parshendi. Bonus points.

Extra Bonus Points for using almost entirely uninvested individuals.

The individuals are entirely uninvested, just a couple use Invested objects :P

I just realized no one thought to bring up Sixth of Dusk nor his bird Kokerlii and Sak. They could be used to keep the group hidden, as well as warm of traps in any building or location they infiltrate.

Duh!! I had ruled him out as being too primitive, but you're right those birds offer huge advantages. He would definitely be on my team!

On second thought, I should add that Parshendi are very useful. They can jump long distances and are highly adaptable to be perfect spies, high power mages, or warriors. I did not even consider that until I read the other comments.
