Quiver he/him Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Does Soulcaster have unlimited range? Because if he does he could rule the world simply by putting all high epics under am illusion. This is... basically Sentry's whole underlying philosophy, actually. Soulcaster is unbelievably powerful... so he's being comparatively lazy. So her thought is that "weak" epics like herself are actually better, since they have to be more creative and clever with their powers. I get excited thinking about how mad Sentry got about Heartsleeve just touching one of the posters, then thinking about what Vandal's doing, and the manhunt that is sure to follow. It Begins. ...No it doesn't. I have work today and tomorrow, and I'm not sure if Sentry should "abandon" Heartsleeve and Countdown on account of this yet. So I'm trying to figure out my post. So... It Begins Soon-ish? the guy can run on buildings and blind people with darkness, as well as take out the main security system. His chase should be good. My thoughts exactly. Also, I loved Vandals post, just in general. Setting it up as a Battle of the Artists should make for some descriptions and stuff down the road. Well not if she annoys Soulcaster enough for him to get involved. But then she'd have to annoy him a lot for him to bother. And he'd be almost as likely take it out on her. "But I thought you wanted whini-" *BOOM* 1
Vikro he/him Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Yes, soon-ish. Also, does anyone actually control/RP Soulcaster, or is he a NPC leader who does stuff based on a collective view?
Blackhoof Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Does Soulcaster have unlimited range? Also, does anyone actually control/RP Soulcaster, or is he a NPC leader who does stuff based on a collective view? Voidus controls Soulcaster
Voidus Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 he has a range of a few kilometres/miles i think Voidus controls Soulcaster Yeah, at a stretch he could reach a few nearby cities but that's about it. He also doesn't really care about world domination, he just wants Epics to know where to find him so he isn't bored. For the most part yeah, though I'm always open to input. He's also largely not going to be a viewpoint character.
Voidus Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Scribbler post up, where a small amount of PTSD means that Lucy is somewhat less likely to go on an Epic murdering spree right now. So that's... good? I guess. I probably should have said this before, but I've procrastinated writing it up until now. Still, here it is. I don't think Quicksilver would have been able to do what he did. The issue isn't Quicksilver's power level; I can't really question that. The problem is the numerous other Epics in the Dalles, as Edgedancer previously touched on. Here are a few examples of how he could be stopped pretty rapidly: Deathwish might be a sleazy slontze, but he's definitely clever and able enough to maneuver himself into one of Quicksilver's metal strikes on the CHAMP missiles. He'd just have to get hit once, and Quicksilver's rampage would be over. I think this scenario is the most likely. As Edge previously described, Edgerunner and Frostfire could send a missile careening back towards Quicksilver. Provided that Glamour is so inclined, he could easily send a burning ray of sunlight to scorch Quicksilver's retinas into oblivion. The speed of light is faster than a metal tentacle. When we consider that the Arsenal/Quicksilver conflict was fairly extended, and is still going on, the gang lord's success seems even less likely. Don't get me wrong— I really think the battle is fascinating, and I loved Quicksilver's most recent monologue against the City Guard. However, Arsenal isn't Quicksilver's only capable enemy. I truly think that what happened just isn't possible, despite how interesting it was. Scribblers currently occupied which is for the best I suppose, otherwise she might have had to go full Epic on both of them Which would either end with dead Scribbler or fully corrupted Scribbler.
Voidus Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 What did you think about my ideas on the viability of Quicksilver's success? Yeah I find it questionable that he'd be able to do all of that uninterrupted. Not necessarily that he'd be beaten but someone would have reacted before then, the whole fighting off the missiles thing would have taken like a minute at least and then the speech too, I find it a bit unlikely that no one else would have intervened before then.

So that's... good? I guess. Maybe there was something to my joke about Shiny actually being an anti-Epic created by Dawnslight. What did you think about my ideas on the viability of Quicksilver's success? I already gave my input on that, which is to say that I agree. Of course, unless you have a Steelheart level of power advantage, going for an open encounter one vs many without an escape plan seldomly ends well for the one. 1

So long as we don't tell her that, or she'll just go around insisting every female Epic date her so she can cure them. 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted March 22, 2016 Author Posted March 22, 2016 So long as we don't tell her that, or she'll just go around insisting every female Epic date her so she can cure them. Say "aye" if you thought an RP about the destruction of an entire state would turn into a romantic comedy. *crickets* 2

Interestingly, Shiny kind of holds the key to redeeming Lucentia... although I doubt the circumstances would ever come to be. 1

Citadel16 he/him Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 (edited) hey I have a question. What are the rules on energy weapons? Edited March 22, 2016 by WarriorMark16
Voidus Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 hey I have a question. What are the rules on energy weapons? Are there any canonically? Closest thing I can think of is the gauss gun.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted March 22, 2016 Author Posted March 22, 2016 hey I have a question. What are the rules on energy weapons? Depends on why kind of energy weapons we're talking about.
Bladestorm Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Power wise anythings possible, but in canon we know that it would be insanely difficult to power most of them. Conflux had to power both the cell used for the gausse gun and the weapons of enforcement.
Citadel16 he/him Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 (edited) Depends on why kind of energy weapons we're talking about. sort of like a blue rocket launcher the size of a rifle. not too fancy, but something to the effect of flying things not included. edit: I have an epic that can charge things with self charging energy. not quite as powerful as conflux, but more... efficient Edited March 22, 2016 by WarriorMark16
Voidus Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 sort of like a blue rocket launcher the size of a rifle. not too fancy, but something to the effect of flying things not included. So basically the Gauss gun?
Bladestorm Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 the gauss gun had more destructive power than that, in the video diamond showed david it destroyed a building. But the weapon in that video looks reasonably possible.
Voidus Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 the gauss gun had more destructive power than that, in the video diamond showed david it destroyed a building. But the weapon in that video looks reasonably possible. I'd say those could pretty easily destroy a building
Citadel16 he/him Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 the weapons that enforcement had were said to be able to destroy a building in just a few shots.
Straw he/him Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Does anyone here need ideas for epics? I have a truckload of them.
Bladestorm Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 there should be a page for just ideas of epics, aside from the if you were an epic one. We could have a seperate page for various types of epics, like a page for enhanced abilities or a page for teleportation, or it could just be one big idea page.

Citadel16 he/him Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 so are the energy weapons OK? I need to make sure.
