Brandon is not planning to go to WorldCon this year; his schedule right around there is just too tight. However, there's still a chance he will stop by London on his way to or from Spain.

The Huntington Beach signing should be at least 3 hours, but the talking part is all within the first hour.

The bookstore in Oslo was Outland Kirkegata. If they want to invite him again, 2014 is full and 2015 is filling up.

I am very familiar with the Outland store, so i shall contact them and ask if they would be willing to invite him again.

Would Brandon ever come to Winnipeg?  It might look pretty close to Toronto on a map, but the distance to Toronto is actually only a little bit less than the distance to Vancouver.

The Dayton stop is a bit over a hour away from me, maybe I should go there.  The Kentucky stop is almost two hours from me.  I still think I'm pretty fortunate to have two possible options to me.

I must admit I slightly hate you for this, and was tempted to down-vote you because of it. Instead, I gave you an up-vote, even if only to keep me from changing my mind later.

Eh, I'm getting spoiled. The Steelhunt signing was around two miles away from me, a block from our family's music store in our old neighbourhood. Now, it's fifty miles away, in San Francisco.

I read this thread to complain not.

So I really want to go to the Hunnington Beach signing but I have stuff at 7. How long do these things last? I might be able to catch the tail end or something.

Depends how big the event is. Small ones, they are usually done after a little over an hour. Most would fall between the two- and three-hours mark. A rare few would go on for more than three hours, but those are major ones.

Dayton is about 3 hours from me.

Most of Brandon's signings are 3 hours or more, and I don't expect that to change on this tour.

Brandon will be going to Calgary in August, but it looks like Omaha is closer to Winnipeg than Calgary is. He's going to Calgary because a convention there invited him as guest of honor and is flying him out. He tries to go to one convention per month during the warm part of the year. 2014 is full and 2015 is nearly full at this point. Conventions should start inviting him for 2016. He was invited to Calgary 2014 back in November 2012.

Why, oh why does he not visit Norway? I feel left out...

*Put a hand in Aether should*

I feel you bro =(

I think he should make one additional stop on the trip that connects with more fans than any other destination:  17th Shard.

He will connect with more fans than any other destination probably in Seattle or Portland. Those signings are bigger than his signings have ever been in New York City or New England.

But the possibilities of the internet are endless!!!! (For reference, see below graphics.)

Can Seattle do that?

Edit: Also, check out how many boats are on the web right now. Very impressive.

how does Zrizona look?

He's going to both Phoeniz and Tuczon in Zrizona this year. He tries to go to a few different places in each tour. I'm pretty sure he's never been to Tuczon before.

Peter,

How does the US tour stuff work? The WoR tour is not too close to me, 5 hours is the closest, so I'm sure I'll see him on a future tour.  But does Tor just give him x number of cities and let yall plan it or do they chose?  Is it getting places that will fly him out like the international visits?  I know he came to Raleigh, NC before so hopefully he will again on a future tour, but that was also the aMoL tour when he was touring like a mad man.

They plan 2 or 3 weeks and try to hit a many cities as possible, with minimal flight time between them. This year he is going home on Sunday and Monday to relieve the stress on his family.

There are certain cities he will most likely hit on every tour, and then the other cities he changes them up from tour to tour. It's mostly Tor that picks the cities, but we also give some input. Occasionally they also take input from Facebook, if people put together a Facebook group or page urging Brandon to go somewhere and enough people are involved in it.

Bookstores in the US don't fly authors out. It's the publishers who do it as part of their publicity budget. For Brandon's first three books, Tor contributed a bit of money for Brandon and David Farland to go on a road trip tour together, that Brandon and Dave organized themselves. After that, Brandon's books were popular enough that Tor started paying to fly Brandon around and Tor set up the signings.

That's interesting. I didn't realize that Tor was paying for him to tour.

Thanks Peter!

I'm sad there is no NYC stop, but he WAS just here for Steelheart (although it was a weird event...I would recommend avoiding the 92Y in the future).

I'm planning on making to trek from NYC to Philly, though! mmm....cheesesteaks....
