Blackhoof Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Or how about Rob Schenider? Movie announcer voice: Rob Schneider was a somewhat funny comedic actor, who seemed like he had it all. Until one day, he got granted superpowers by an evil red star! Rob Schneider is.... an Epic! And he's about to find out that being an Epic.... is not as epic as it seems! Rated PG-13. 1
Mailliw73 he/him Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Vin Diesel as Obliteration? Sorry, but Jim Caviezel is the only actor allowed to play that Epic. You've posted that clip many times, but I watched a good third of it this time, and you're right. This man is Obliteration. 2
Edgedancer he/him Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 (edited) You've posted that clip many times, but I watched a good third of it this time, and you're right. This man is Obliteration. TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 I hate to burst your bubble but this man is Obliteration. For reference Obliteration from his Epic profile. He's too busy writing books of his own, though. We need someone with the time to play the role.
Blackhoof Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 (edited) No offense to Jim Butcher (even though he was literally copied for Obliteration XD ) i always pictured Oblit as thin. Butcher is a tad on the chunky side. Jim Caveizel? Ooooh, now THAT is an Obliteration I can get behind! Edited June 26, 2015 by Blackhoof

And the best part is that Caveizel only takes roles he believes send a message, and Obliteration fits right in. So we get our incredibly terrifying Obliteration, Jim Butcher gets time for writing, and we get an awesome movie. Everybody wins! 2
Mestiv he/him Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 (edited) Megan = Susan Coffey, especially when I think about first scenes of Steelheart when she wears red dress: Edited July 14, 2015 by Mestiv 1
Mickey Moose Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Prof- Harrison Ford. For obvious reasons. Tia- I'm torn between Gina Torres and Gillian Anderson, but I'm gonna go with Scully here. Cody- Cody has the most people I'd consider being good. Ron Perlman, Chris Pratt, and Nathan Fillion could all do a fine job with the character, and Cody's age is never specified, so they can all work. Abraham- Idris Elba or Omar Sy. Megan- Jennifer Lawrence or Chloe Mortez. Either of them would be a great choice, but I think that JLaw would bring too many Hunger Games comparisons. David- Either Brenton Thwaites or Logan Lerman, methinks. Maaaaaaybe Ezra Miller, but that's a big maybe. As for the Epics, I still think only Ken Wantanabe can be Nightweilder. But Steelheart? There is only one actor able to be the Lord of Newcago, if you want to have the right Steelheart. Michael friggin Ironside. He might be a bit old, but Steelheart is going grey after the prologue. I also think that Hugh Jackman or Ahnold could pull it off, but without the accents.
Blackhoof Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Michael Ironside? Not sure if he is buff enough in my opinion. Steelheart needs to be huge. Someone the size of Arnold or the Rock.
RippleGylf she/her Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 I always thought that John Hurt could play a really good Prof. 5
Kobold King he/him Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 I always thought that John Hurt could play a really good Prof. "What I did, I did without choice. In the name of peace... and sanity." 5
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 "What I did, I did without choice. In the name of peace... and sanity." Firefight spoilers: Regalia: I did it for the lolz. And to wipe that stupid smile off his face. Let's face it: I am not a nice person. 2
Delightful Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Vin Diesel as Obliteration? Sorry, but I'm getting "this video is not available"? Anyone know what's up with that, or could link me to something similar please?
Hummeldustin Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Dylan O'Brien from Teen Wolf and Maze Runner as David. He has the perfect mix of goofiness and serious obsession.
Mickey Moose Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Michael Ironside? Not sure if he is buff enough in my opinion. Steelheart needs to be huge. Someone the size of Arnold or the Rock. But it's a trade-off I can live with. He might'nt have the exact build for it, but Ironside sounds like Steelheart should, IMHO.
Grey Knight Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 PROF AS MORGAN FREEMAN!!!! (Disclaimer: In no way, shape, or form do I actually mean this. Morgan Freeman is way too much of a big name. People would not see Prof, they would see Morgan Freeman.
poisonedbite Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Steelheart: Matthew Taylor Nightwielder: George Takei David's Dad is obviously Eugene Levy. David: Miles Teller Megan: Victoria Justice Tia: Selma Hayak Abraham: Gerard Butler Cody: Russell Brand Prof: Tommy Lee Jones
Mickey Moose Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Or, this: Prof: Clancy Brown Tia: Alex Kingston Cody: Robert Downey Junior Abraham: Samuel L…erm… Phil Lamar. Megan: Jeanette McCurdy David: Jamie Campbell Bower Steelheart: Samuel L Jackson. Nightwielder: Dennis Oh Val: Gina Torres Exel: Ron Perlman Regalia: Viola Davis.
poisonedbite Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 (edited) You don't think this is Steelheart? BTW, this is the guy that played Nemesis. He's like 6'7. Edited August 15, 2015 by poisonedbite
Patrick Star Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Also, Ben Kingsley would have to play Edmund/Conflux. Just watch Iron Man 3, if you have any reservations. 2
Seana she/her Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 (edited) ... Edited August 26, 2015 by Seana
Kairos Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 I don't know about Fassbender either. Steelheart needs to be massive. He needs to be the size of the Rock, with a glare to match. What about Cumberbatch as Obliteration? His voice would be perfect for the lines.
Kobold King he/him Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 What about Cumberbatch as Obliteration? His voice would be perfect for the lines. "I am fire. I am death." ...That said, I'm not that big a fan of Mr. Cumberbatch as an actor. He's okay, but I find him too melodramatic in his villain roles. Obliteration needs to be menacing, but not scenery-chewing; dramatic, but not to the point of glaring at the camera as he slowly growls out the line "I am Obliteration." 1

If anyone still doubts Jim Caviezel would do a spectacular job, try to get your hands on the Person of Interest "In Extremis." I can give you the background you need, but just watch it. Obliteration needs to be terrifying, but restrained, and that's what Caveizel's performance in that whole series is. Edited September 1, 2015 by TwiLyghtSansSparkles 1
