Edgedancer he/him Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Yeah a PM is probably in order. Kobold/Twi did you want to be included? Well, there already was "maybe you should be careful" pm to her, so we could add you to that.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted January 11, 2016 Author Posted January 11, 2016 Yeah a PM is probably in order. Kobold/Twi did you want to be included? If you wouldn't mind.
Voidus Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Well, there already was "maybe you should be careful" pm to her, so we could add you to that. That works for me.
Voidus Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 So I may have accidentally figured out a way for Impact to destroy all life on earth.I might need to adjust her character profile a bit.
Voidus Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Uh… Increasing the Earth's momentum to a point where it escapes the Sun's gravitational pull? Enlighten us, Voidus. I may have accidentally discovered two ways for her to end all life. (Actually this is a problem because my first solution to the first problem would cause the second to become a possibility) Well because as with MV she uses momentum rather than speed (So she can throw a pebble for a hundred miles or she can throw a bus a few meters) when the scale gets small enough that lets her produce things going at insane speeds of the kind that facilitate fusion.
Stormgate he/him Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I will try a third time: can Nathan go to Chimera and get a Pegasus or a unicorn for Funtimes? As a present.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 I will try a third time: can Nathan go to Chimera and get a Pegasus or a unicorn for Funtimes? As a present. He can, but I don't know when an opportunity might present itself.
Voidus Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I also don't see why Chimera would give him one.
Stormgate he/him Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Well, isn't Chimera more or less neutral? He turned down some requests to join groups, and would probably be happy with getting another spy behind potential enemy lines.

He turned down some requests to join groups, and would probably be happy with getting another spy behind potential enemy lines. Funtimes is also pretty unstable. He might not trust her with one of his creations, and if he did, the chances of her letting Nathan out of her sight long enough for him to get a pegacorn from Chimera aren't good.
Voidus Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Well, isn't Chimera more or less neutral? He turned down some requests to join groups, and would probably be happy with getting another spy behind potential enemy lines. Yeah but he wouldn't just give it away to a complete unknown who isn't even an Epic.
Stormgate he/him Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I'm thinking a present for Funtimes? As for why... does Chimera accept cash? Or dinosaurs? Can Chimera use his powers on Lightwards' Dinos?
Voidus Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Cash probably doesn't exist and if it did Nathan wouldn't have any. He also doesn't have any dinosaur of his own as far as I know, nor is Lightwards likely to give him one.
Kobold King he/him Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 According to two of Joe's early posts in which Sightline pays Gordon with a backpack full of cash, cash is used in Portland. I don't personally think this is how it would have been, but that's the canon that's been established. See, it's moments like this where having read Portland twice comes in handy. I think cash would become sort of an "elite" currency. Physical cash would be rare, eventually as rare as gold; perfect for currency. Owning a bundle of cash would also set you apart from the normal people of the Fractured States, who would have resorted to bartering or trading seashells.

We might actually have to talk about potentially ret-conning that, I just really doubt cash would be used in Portland, a city hugely torn apart by gang wars when apparently not even Newcago makes use of it.
Mailliw73 he/him Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Yeah but he wouldn't just give it away to a complete unknown who isn't even an Epic. He'd ask a few questions, see what he could learn, and then probably do it. Only if Nathan had something to trade though. None of the Chimerans are free without an ulterior motive.
TheSilverDragon he/him Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Hello guys, I'm back from an extended brake from the org, and getting caught back up with the story. 1
Voidus Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Hello guys, I'm back from an extended brake from the org, and getting caught back up with the story. Welcome back! We'll see you in a few months when you've finished reading everything
TheSilverDragon he/him Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Welcome back! We'll see you in a few months when you've finished reading everything Already done.
Voidus Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Already done. We have an Epic with super-reading abilities among us.
Mashadar Mistborn he/him Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Um... Sorry for trapping Converter in a semi-airtight prison.
TheSilverDragon he/him Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 All cool, she'll just die, and then reappear in a close by explosion, which hopefully happens within the bubble.

The solution for that is so simple it is almost scary. Just do not let her affect that small a scale.
Voidus Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 The solution for that is so simple it is almost scary. Just do not let her affect that small a scale. That's generally my solution, the problem is with how her powers did work that it's practically impossible, I've already had her pushing continuously outwards from her body and I think I mentioned that that includes air, and since air is gaseous that means it has to work at an atomic level. I could alter her ability so it effects entire objects rather than just the surface that touches her but then I run into the aforementioned problem of shifting the earths orbit and I'd have to retcon certain scenes, like the fight with Deathwish and also the scene where she became corrupted.
