Guest Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I'm afraid that the capacity to dislike the movie does not lie within me. I learned a long time ago that the more technically critical of movies I become, the less I enjoy them.
Bort he/him Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I'm afraid that the capacity to dislike the movie does not lie within me. I learned a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away that the more technically critical of movies I become, the less I enjoy them. Fixed that for you Kipper. 10
Briar King Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 It's time to edit thread title to Ep 7. It's officially Dec 1 the month we ve been waiting for since 2012! Time to count down! 17 days.
Seonid he/him Posted December 1, 2015 Author Posted December 1, 2015 It's time to edit thread title to Ep 7. It's officially Dec 1 the month we ve been waiting for since 2012! Time to count down! 17 days. Well, the original purpose of this thread was just to geek out about the new trailer, but if you want this to turn into the Official Star Wars Episode VII Discussion ThreadTM, I'm more than happy to edit the title to reflect that.
Briar King Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Yeah it just made since at this point lol. 16 days! I've stayed away from TF.N for a few months now but I've been watching Colliders Jedi Council show every Thurs for the past few months. I reco fans to watch those guys.
Kasimir he/him Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Is anyone else concerned about Boyega's character getting Anakin's lightsaber? I mean, think about it. That piece of junk is cursed. Everyone who's ever wielded it has gotten their hand chopped off! 1
Curious Anamaximder he/him Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 So true! Tis cursed. And how did he get it? It fell of Cloud City.
Briar King Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Im sure it got lodged instead of getting dropped into Bespin. Or a team of Force sentives in suits search through the debris in the Gas Giant? That's a far stretch
Briar King Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Omg 7 days! Next Friday by this time I hope to have gotten my nerd on. I'm shocked this thread is so dead on such a huge movie release on a Forum of fellow nerds. kinda sad I'm watching everything SW this month. I mean everything. I just have Ep 5-6, 20 mins left of 1st CW cartoon, and S5-6 of 2nd left to watch before week ends. I will complete my mission.
Plaeggs he/him Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Nice. How about reading everything Star Wars? The canon, that is. The post VI is just too confusing for me.
Voidus Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Nice. How about reading everything Star Wars? The canon, that is. The post VI is just too confusing for me. None of it's canon any more.
Plaeggs he/him Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 How about the Old Republic stuff? Please tell me I didn't read that for nothing.
Left he/him Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 How about the Old Republic stuff? Please tell me I didn't read that for nothing. Personally, I don't think I'm ever going to feel like the EU books I've read have been a waste. I'm not sure about Old Republic books, the video game tie ins might be safe, but officially speaking all of the EU is non canon. Whether anyone is going to redo that early era stuff is questionable, so I guess I'll just say that I don't know yet.
Voidus Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Officially it's just the movies and tv shows that are canon now.So I wasted about 50,000 hours reading what is now considered to be glorified fan fiction...And I would do it again because it's awesome.
Guest Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 I really hope that Disney brings Thrawn back in some way. Thrawn was my first exposure to the EU, really, and reading that Zahn trilogy was glorious.
Seonid he/him Posted December 15, 2015 Author Posted December 15, 2015 Amen to that. Thrawn and the X-wing novels are best star wars.

It just gives such an oomph to the story, because the Star Wars that most people know is centred around just one of the major turning points, when you read the EU you can see the vast scope of it all.
Voidus Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 I want the yuuzahn vong to be canonized at least.
Titan Arum Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 It saddens me to say that I had to SELL my Star Wars tickets for the 7 pm showing on Dec. 17th. I am out of the US in Bangladesh for work...which makes it very, very difficult to be in Washington, DC for the showing. Sigh. I may have to avoid the internet until Dec. 21st to purposefully avoid ANY indication of how awesome the Force Awakens actually is. I already see the first signs of spoilers on Twitter...
Quiver he/him Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Ya know, I've been complaining to people about my inactivity lately. I'm actually really, really glad I don't have regular internet now, because it means I can avoid spoilers. And by spoilers, I mean chull's who I just know are going to start spamming message boards with spoilers from the film, like people who walked out of Empire Strikes Back and told the people waiting in line 'Darth Vader is Luke's father'. ...Oh, uh. Spoilers for the Empire Strikes Back, by the way. Sorry about that. 1
Curious Anamaximder he/him Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 It premiered last night!!!
